Bramaterra Red Blend 2021

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2021 pours a bright garnet color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with fabulous notes of wild raspberries, Morello cherry, freshly cut roses, cedar chest, orange zest, alpine herbs and rocky earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. This is really beautiful stuff. The nose alone positively slays. Drink now through 2041. Thanks for the assist @Lyle Fass — a month ago

Dry White Bianco Biancospino Sorbara Blend

85%Sorbara, 10% Sauv blanc, 5% Chardonnay.
N: Vauge almonds, peaches, Apricot.
P: Nice bubbles, lots of peach fuzziness.
Quite refreshing, not too serious.
A nice find from the Veneto.
Sorbara vinified white…..
With time open, the nose gets pleasantly funkified. Damp yeasty.

Forget my previous post on this bottle. Ageing gave it the surplus I was expecting from a Riserva. Absolutely terrific — 7 months ago

Conterno Gattinara Nebbiolo 2020

Delectable Wine
9.4

The 2020 Gattinara is elegant and lifted. Crushed red berry fruit, cinnamon and orange peel grace this ethereal, nuanced Gattinara. Bright saline notes and sweet red-toned fruit build into the long, persistent finish. Understated and silky, the 2020 is exquisite. All this needs is a few years to soften. Vigna Molsino Gattinara Nebbiolo 2016

Translucent garnet with a bit of oranging.
Floral nose with red currant and raspberry fruit.
Light bodied, upright acidity and astringency giving way to velvet tannins. Probably has another 10 years before peaking.

Incredible bouquet but took a long time to open up and for the mineral and acid to mellow. Smooth and gentle when it finally did. Would only go for cellared bottles. — 6 months ago
