Wow! I need to find more of this at 22 years old was still drinking fresh and sharp. Acid and tannins still solid but a lovely berry pop on the finish. Still probably has another 4-6 years of life — a month ago
Made with the local grape Carricante, pale to medium lemon color with aromas of stone fruit, citrus and honey floral notes. On the palate flavors of ripe apple and pear with slight citrus and nutty notes. Good acidity, balance and structure, medium+ finish ending with salty mineral nutty character. Etna Bianca- contrada monte Serra 2023. 1st vintage. Never oak only stainless steel for all carricante. Pale oak. Lowest elevation. Near sea level Very ventilated. On the nose, herbaceous, salinity, almonds, and on the palate, sea salt, citrus, tropical fruit, minerality, richness and fullness and more tropical fruit, mango, papaya, florals in the finish. Paired with olive oil.
