Oddly, a wine with Asian flavors. Strong baijiu aroma on the noise - wild. Bamboo shoot and tofu skin funk, hint of loquat syrup. A bit of savory cinnamon. Would be great with braised pork. — 5 months ago
The floral and elegant side of Garnacha. Fine raspberries, good acid, some funky note. Pleasant — 9 months ago

“El Tamboril” is a tiny, north-facing, high altitude vineyard that produces Garnacha Tinta, Garnacha Blanco and Garnacha Gris. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 2020 El Tamboril Tinto pours a deep ruby color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe, fresh Bing cherry, strawberry, red flowers, rocky earth, and a mix of cool and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is a beautiful wine that balances power with elegance about as well as any. Drink now through 2040. — 2 months ago

Thanks to my brother for supplying my first Comando G wine. Till now, I’d only read about them. As a Garnachista, I’ve always wanted to drink one (actually many). This strikes a wonderful balance between the ripeness and friendliness of Grenache fruit and avoidance of any heaviness. In a word, balance. The palate is rich, but balanced and savory. Not super complex but so delicious. — 14 days ago
