Lovely wine from patriarche — 2 years ago
Drunk April 9 2022Malu’s birthday. Possibly best wine in my cave better than 1er cru with everything you could want from Bordeaux — 4 years ago
Needed 1 hour last night then it got reductive. But today oh man! Nose is glorious red fruits, granite, herbs and flowers. Clay, iron ore. Some blackberry as well. palate is raw and feral with blood, guts and meat. Concentrated and linear. Unreal texture and finish but needs a decade. — 2 months ago
Absolutely gorgeous. — 3 months ago
New label for 21. Love it. Nose is ripe cassis, blackberry and red currant. Needs time to open but it’s very lifted, very bright and very 21. Some granite there but needs coaxing. Ok, after some coaxing we got florals, some herbals and really expansive. Gorgeous. But it will give more. Palate is very 21 and is backwards and closed. Hmmmm? Are 21’s closing? Maybe. Balanced and juicy but really dominated by its architecture right now. Great concentration and ripe tannins and major 21 classical structure. Needs air and also a decade. I will return. Some wet earth now developing and herbals but it’s slow moving. Big, drying tannins but a juicy long finish. It’s cranky. But energetic, pure and outrageous length. After 5 hours nose is all blueberries, wild mint, herbs and game. Red fruited as well. Wonderful. So elegant juicy and super mineral. Lush and soft but grippy. 9.4 to 9.5. — 5 months ago

Surprising amount of energy and lift for a wine of this type, still full bodied but leans more towards a medium red than heavy. Very soft tannins, blackberry forward with some plum, blueberry, a bit of raspberry & floral notes and cedar — 18 days ago
