Medium ruby , wide quite light garnet ruby rim . This has quite closed at first , with ripe raspberry , spiced red cherry , strawberry, touch of spice also. On the palate this is quite fresh and vivid, raspberry , red currant , wild strawberry , touch of spice. Quite high acidity and lightly grippy tannins . Light red fruited finish , of pretty good medium length . Still pretty young , and quite well defined and detailed, vivid, even though there is a bit more oak spice noticable than the Pommard tasted yesterday. With time this is drinking well now but will last well a further 5-10 . — 10 months ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2012 Zayante Vineyard Syrah pours a deep ruby/purple color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with significant staining of the tears and signs of fine sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and slightly desiccated black and blue fruits: blackberries, fig, dried purple flowers, roasted game, some black pepper, some olive, leather, old wood and a balanced combination of cool and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. This is a very lovely Cali Syrah that has some Rhône sensibilities. Drink now through 2032. — 2 months ago

I don’t appreciate buttery and oaky Chardonnay. This excellent Chardonnay has reduced the traditional characters and highlights
notes of honeysuckle, apple and Meyer lemon. Flavors of sickle pear, citrus and a dash of salt. A subtle blend of mineral and acidity. Excellent pairing with Thanksgiving. — 5 years ago
Jasmine, quince paste, spiced pear, lemon curd, pineapple sweetness, punchy. Touch of lemon pith at end, but tons of juicy acid. Creamy / lactic. Chalky minerals. Layered, delicious, weighty.

This is the Gamay de Beauregard @Delectable Wine
Lifting aromas of bright and alluring berry fruit. Insane levels of spice, loam, flowers, alpine, clean minerals, really floral and really mineral with a thick berry fruit as well. Unreal aromas. So layered and deep. Some hints of mulch and potting soil. Be $50+ in Côte d’Or. Palate has terrific energy and depth. Unreal mineralIty and freshness. Terrific inner mouth florals and so juicy. God level juicy then finishes with lovely tanginess and minerality. Unreal purity of fruit and so sappy. This is as good as natural Savoie gamay is gonna get. Super expressive wine of terroir and great fruit. No dirty poop. Great wine. — 6 years ago
On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Pops Orchestra. Our Pops conductor Keith Lockhart is leading a live-to-picture performance of Star Wars: A New Hope, a showing of the classic 1977 film, with the Orchestra performing Mr. Williams’ iconic score.
For live-to-picture productions, the orchestra performs the entire movie score in real time as the film unspools. (Vocals, dialogue and effects are isolated from the original music track.)
Generally we get to here Star Wars scores a couple times per season here at Tanglewood, but tonight we get a chance to hear them with the backdrop of the movie (Episode IV) that launched a franchise, to say the least!
I celebrated another full trip around the sun, since my coming into this world, earlier this week. Tonight my wife, some dear friends and me will be enjoying some enticing wines along with our movie night. So notes...maybe, but I'll try! — 7 years ago
Awesome wine. Rich chocolate and truffles from the Merlot and bring astringency from the Cab Franc. Continued to open up over hours. — 6 months ago

This 50/50 Syrah-Grenache is a terrific value. Intensely stony, mineral nose shows some roasted green herbs and tiny, very dark berry fruit. Savory and minerally in the mouth, it’s lighter on its feet than the saturated color and mineral profile suggest, with an orange zest note in the clingy finish. And only 13.5%, to boot! — 6 years ago
We had the 85, buttered popcorn with smooth wood and honey notes. — 7 years ago
