Damn this is some fine Cab Franc. If you haven’t found it, go find it. Layers and depth galore. Still pretty and balance to boot. — 3 years ago
Rollin Soles new project. Chalky minerality with nice citrus rind. Old world stylistically. Interesting and delicious. — 8 years ago
Since 1987, winemaker Rollin Soles and viticulturist Allen Holstein have teamed up to produce wines from low-yielding vines, receiving11 Wine Spectator Top 100 designations. Aromas of berry fruit and herb citrus notes. On the palate cherry and blackberry with orange citrus, spice and toasty oak notes. Fine earthy tannins, lingering ending with earthy mineral notes. — 9 years ago

Sailin' away on the crest of a wave
It's like magic
Oh, rollin' and ridin' and slippin' and slidin'
It's magic
And you, and your sweet desire
You took me higher and higher, baby
It's a livin' thing
It's a terrible thing to lose
It's a given thing
What a terrible thing to lose

Pale lemon with aromas of citrus and stone fruits, aged for 14 months in French oak, 20% new. On the palate apple and lemon flavors with hints of sweet spice. Long rich finish, well balanced with lively acidity ending with minerality. Very Nice! Tasting Sample. — 6 years ago
Rollin Sales, winemaker. Fragrant, fruity, smooth with great finish. — 7 years ago
A bottle I had a couple of years ago was much more expressive than this one. This needed aggressive swirling and lots of air to coax the aromatics. The palate had a nice core of cherry fruit that became more apparent the more air it received. — 8 years ago
Quite a nice perfume red fruited a bit reticent nose into a soft palate and texture and lingering more acidic finish. 15 years of slumber paid off — 6 months ago

1996 vintage. Decanted and tasted after two hours. Decent fill and not throwing as much sediment as expected. Cork in great shape and only bottom fourth saturated. Expressive nose of extreme, maritime cedar influence and graphite/lead pencil. Plenty of color with a very thin meniscus. Have never been the biggest Mouton fan (least fave of the First Growths) but this is in the zone/at the top of the bell curve/rollin rollin rollin rollin now and for the foreseeable decade+ without drop-off. Decidedly not improving, but on the hell yes plateau for 12-15 years. Nose substantially translates into the finish, adding sandalwood and that massive, muscular and intimidating dark, plummy thrust. Professional opinion suspects this would be tasting better in another 2 hours. Don't sell your biggies short (all too frequent mistake). They gotta stretch them legs. 7.7.23. — 3 years ago
Broad, sappy and almost Nebbiolo-like on entry. On the palate, it becomes pure class...the way that Savigny in the hands of masters (Bize, Rollin, Cornu) always does. Taut, mannerly and entirely 2010ish. Years to go, but just fine right now. — 7 years ago
Huge, bold and full bodied zin with cherry, plum, and fig notes. Buy again. Soon. Rollin' Oats: 10.99 10.19.17 — 9 years ago

Delish. Selected for our spring tasting, great representation of Burgandy pinot for the price point. — 3 months ago
