This wine from Saxum is a great value — smooth, even fruit; great balance overall. 79% syrah, 7% petite sirah, 7% grenache, 5% mourvédre. 97 points from Robert Parker and $129 when I bought it from K&L although market looks more like $160 now. — 18 days ago
Really enjoyed this wine. Smooth and as others have said, fruit forward. — 16 days ago
Dark red pomegranate, mushroom, bramble, light, enough acid to counter light tannins. Excellent cab. — 5 days ago
Nose much more Intense than the palate. Oddly delicate. — 20 days ago
Popped and poured. The mouthfeel had rich, creamy lusciousness with gentle acidity. Baked apple with warm, autumn spices flooded the palette. Also had an underlying minerality that provided nice backbone. Long, fine finish. This was absolutely scrumptious. — 19 days ago
Lots of sediment but turned into lovely wine. Much better than my last one. These apparently need a lot of time. — 4 days ago

From magnum. Popped and poured into red Solo cups; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2008 pours a deep ruby purple color with a near opaque core; medium plus viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart, red and black fruits: mixed brambles, black cherry, black pepper, leather, dry earth and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium plus. Still pretty fresh and considering this is one of the more long-lived examples of Zinfandel I can think of, there is almost no end in sight. Drink now through 2043. — 2 months ago
