Clos de Mez Morgon Gamay 2019

Really very nice. Opened 6 hours before service and decanted for 3. Quite deep with great red fruit, bit of earth, medium structure, medium plus acid. Great pairing with some chicken meatballs with soy and ginger. Would have been higher but a smidge of the 14.5% heat comes through on the finish. Still very enjoyable. — a month ago

Les Chaumes Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2018

This was “Smokin” & WOTN in our Blind Tasting! Classic Vosne nose aromatics & silky smooth! From vines planted in 1918 & 1919; Kudos & Cheers 🍇🍷👍🏻👏🏻
Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy Note:
“25% whole bunch vinification. Imperial purple and black. Planted 1918 and 1919. Edouard notes that there is a bench of hard rock in the middle of the plot, where it is hard to get the pickets in. Similar vibrant purple to the other 1ers crus and a bundle of energy on the nose. Rich plump middle with a fine finish, good tannins, and extra length. This is an extremely fine Chaumes.”Tasted: March 2020-93-95pts.

Les Feusselottes Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir 1985

Enjoyed a single glass at Ambassade de Bourgogne. The 1985 “Les Feusselottes” pours a pale garnet color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears and some sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of desiccated strawberry, dried res flowers, mushrooms, sous bois, licorice, dried herbs and gentle warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin (resolved) and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. A fully mature Les Feusselottes that is showing its age, but showing well. Drink now. — 2 months ago

Cros-Parantoux Réserve Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 1988

Henry Jayer certainly live up to his name!

The wine possesses a profound, healing, oriental herbal bouquet. It's not like fresh mint or basil; it's more like opening a traditional apothecary cabinet filled with premium Chinese Angelica Root (Dāngguī), Astragalus (Huángqí), and dried lily bulbs, or walking through a damp forest after the rain, with scents of ginseng, licorice root, and dried citrus peel warming the air, all interwoven with the luxurious undertones of black truffle and moist earth. It's an aroma that evokes serenity, warmth, and nourishment.

Upon first opening, it presented an aroma of traditional Chinese herbs. After breathing in the glass for half an hour, the wine truly began to unfold, releasing intense notes of red fruits, woody fragrances, and those distinctive herbal nuances. The body is a remarkable fusion of elegance and power. Despite its age, the 1988 vintage retains a finely structured and layered profile, with a clean palate and velvety, silky-smooth tannins. The finish is exceptionally long, evoking the delicate scent of morning dew on bamboo leaves. Overall, it’s an utterly captivating wine that leaves one truly enchanted.
