2010 vintage. Another golden oldie from Blaye. Solid deep red colour with orange rim. Cedar and strawberry. Good concentration and structure, drinking perfectly now but will hold in a good cellar. Good length with some spiciness. Very good indeed and terrific value. — 5 years ago
A beautiful seasonal beer from Brossard, Quebec (Canada).
We visited Quebec City 5 years ago and were impressed by their culture, food and drink.
Red lager brewed with spices. Flavours of gingerbread, candied fruit, vanilla, oak and balsam.
The little rocker figurine is my favourite J-Rocker Hideto 🎸 Matsumoto (or hide - pronounced hee-day) from the band [X-Japan].
He was a Christmas gift from our youngest daughter. 🥰

A year like 2015 allows this cuvée to show at its best. Ripe, surprisingly good acidity (my issue with some Loire '15s), texturally perfect. Not your average, one-dimensional Touraine. #vincentricard #touraine #sauvignonblanc — 9 years ago

2009, Domaine Vincent Ricard, Le Bouc Sauvignon Blanc, Touraine. One of my favorite producers. Very good SB, acidic with lots of citrus. Excellent with pan seared Paiche. No oak, unlike his Trois Chenes cuvée. Last of 6 bottles. Great value. — 12 years ago
Had this a few times, but I was finally able to sit down and analyze it over an evening. Their only cuvée produced in 2014.
Upfront, rollercoaster aromatics initially…rich, then mellowed out with an hour of air. After a few hours of air, a much more ripe CdP profile came out. Great bridge wine from Cali GSMs to bigger CdPs. Deep red in the glass with aromatics of fig, brambly red and black fruits. On the palate, big but not unbalanced. No trace of brett. Soft fig, muddled underripe black cherry, garrigue (smoked herbs); lengthy finish. Kiss of black pepper. Big Grenache vibe here. Lovely with air. Probably best in the near term based on the fruit forward structure. — 3 years ago
The rare wine that opens refreshing and then becomes heavier and meatier as it holds in your mouth. Grape Jammy flavours all around.
A fun wine to pay attention to. — 6 years ago
Very nice, drank together with pate, salami, Serrano ham. — 12 years ago
Dark (black) colour with garnet shines, great depth. First nose is quite discreet, then still bright fruity notes, cocoa, balsamic, tar, petroleum, tobacco, leather. Advanced notes, undergrowth, humus. The first sip definitely lines your mouth with wide and round tannins, where fruit and wood are harmoniously melted, on a superb finish of persistence. What an adventure! Requis at least two or three hours of aeration to deliver.
— 4 years ago

Délicieux ! — 6 years ago
Made by an upcoming anything-goes-but-nothing-is-overdone winemaker, there is so much to like here: a cold soak to extract and maintain rich fruit, a mix of new, one-time used, and two-times used oak from Burgundy plus larger barrels to develop depth and complexity, winemaking based on the conditions of each vintage, and older-vine grapes to make up this flagship cuvée. And the wine? The acid is integrated, the tannins are silky, and the alcohol is plenty balanced (13%) so this is delicious to drink now, but it has enough structure and complexity so I want to see what happens in 5-10 years. Today it's full of a smokey tar-olives-and-ripe-blackberry aroma, which follows through on the palate but is joined by a little savory meatiness and delicate violet character.
