Reserve Pinot Noir 2012
Always a tasting highlight having a Bass Phillip Reserve Pinot Noir the leading Pinot Noir in Australia although the competition is coming. See previous Delectable note. It pours a medium red with a distinct tawny edge. Barb said red fruits (cherry) and bunchy. I certainly agree on both counts. All BP Reserves are special but the 2012 is not one of the greats. - perhaps a little bunchy, to be ultra picky. — 2 years ago

Tasmania Pinot Noir 2015
See many previous Delectable notes but not for this vintage. As stated previously one of Australia’s best Pinots A very aromatic nose of red and black cherry together with root vegetables particularly beetroot. Raspberry flavours - a sweetish palate with a savoury twist. An excellent Tasmanian Pinot Noir and a regular purchase. Also capable of extended cellaring - I recall having a 15 year old one once but it’s hard to resist right now. — 4 years ago

M3 Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2015
Similar to notes of 31 weeks ago here on Delectable. Very pale lemon in colour for a 6 year old Chardonnay. Sulphidic notes on the nose with Citrus and Grapefruit. In the lean style. Next day still plenty of citric acid. It remains a classy modern Australian Chardonnay but I have had better examples. — 5 years ago

Serragghia Bianco Secco Zibibbo
Bought this knowing nothing about the wine on recommendation of my Delectable friend Anthony Lombardi, whom I have actually never met (one of the many things I love about this app). My initial reaction to the color and nose was WTF, not having any experience with these wines, but then I got it. Orange rind, over ripe peach, nectarine, apricot, orangina, capers, lemons, spice, sand, bunch of other stuff, all coming from a cloudy, orangish, smoky liquid that resembled what I understood to be wine, and I can’t say there was a finish because I kept tasting it long after it was done. Oh and it changed a lot over several hours. Felt archaic, organic, creative, weird, and natural. Thanks Anthony. — 6 years ago

En Remilly Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Chardonnay 2010
Perhaps, their best vintage from this terroir. Honeysuckle, white citrus, stone fruit, yellow lilies & some spring flowers, nice texture and beautiful round acidity with a nicely polished finish. Great wine and QPR from this producer. Don’t let the Delectable price fool you, I paid just over $50 on pre-arrival. — 8 years ago

Single Vineyard Riesling 2015
Mid straw yellow in colour. After 10 years still no sign of TDN. Aromas of lime and talc. Ken Helm of Helm wines in the Canberra district would say these are well handled Riesling grapes from a cool growing season where no petro chemical notes have developed. He believes kero/petrol aromas are a wine fault and caused by sunburnt grapes. On the palate lime flavours, a touch of honey and finishes with a slight saline note. Fresh and crisp even in its old age. Proves again that the Clare Valley is perfect for Riesling. Delectable: Taylor’s is the producer. — 9 months ago

Old Weka Pass Road Pinot Noir 2016
See previous notes here on Delectable. Mid to pale ruby in colour. Pale yet powerful. Great aromatics of pansies, rose petals and violets also stalkiness. As Barb said the aromas of a beautiful garden. After a while an Animale, feral note not unlike some Burgundies we’ve had. Medium bodied palate - dried red fruits with a sweet yet savoury twist. A very polished new World Pinot by any measure. Tasters often identify with Central Otago and Martinborough for quality NZ Pinot Noir. Don’t forget about Canterbury in the South Island not far from the city of Christchurch. Luckily I have 2 left. Bob Campbell MW says drink through to 2025. — 3 years ago

No notes made at the time and it was tasted a week ago. This is one of the Cuvées produced by Jim Chatto who was once the chief winemaker at Mount Pleasant in the Hunter Valley and now makes award winning Pinot Noir in Tasmania. Delectable. This is BIRD Pinot Noir. — 4 years ago

Comtes de Champagne Grand Crus Brut Blanc de Blancs 2008
a constellation of factors came together such that I opened this young bottle—recent acquisition of 6 more bottles, the memory of 1990 Comtes on release, a Galloni post on Delectable touting the wine, and a thirst for quality champagne.
Delicious and more open than 08 Dom today, it’s not real creamy but has super balance and drive, delicious fruit, very expansive on the palate as it warms. Each glass gets better. Sweet midpalate fruit that is dense but not weighty, incredible persistence on the palate, really a wow.

Le Petit Mouton Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2009
This wine screams left bank Bordeaux. The final blend is 63% Cabernet Sauvignon; 22% Merlot; and 15% Cabernet Franc. Great depth of flavour particularly for a 2nd wine. The medium + palate shows an inner core of strength and opulence which exhibits the class of the producer and the excellence of the vintage. Tertiary aromas and flavours. See last Delectable note of 2020. Very integrated, balanced and polished. Prompts the old saying in a London Club, “Just damn good claret my man”. Excellent drinking now but still 5+ years left in it. — a year ago

Cuvée Godefroy Côte de Brouilly Gamay 2018
See previous Delectable note 90 weeks ago. Aromatics of dried rose petals with a little herbal spice and a note of fudge. Great mouthfeel. Medium weight palate and intensity. More “serious “ than your average Beaujolais. Red cherry and red currant and a touch of liquorice. Light tannins. This has enough stuffing to cellar for a couple more years. — 4 years ago

This is my 10,000 bottle to add to delectable. We decanted an hour. Perfect cork. Deep dark purple color. Nose of leather, cedar, and dark fruit. Black current, blackberry, spice and tobacco on the palette. Nice long finish of dark fruit. Outstanding! — 4 years ago

@Delectable Wine this is the Les Ensiegneres, not the village Puligny. Cool yellow fruit & ripe apricots with minty nuance. Flinty nose & fresh acid add complexity. Very pretty wine took a little time to open up, but quite generous. — 6 years ago

Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2006
30+ minute decant and could have used a little more. Pretty much an average Bordeaux. Nose is the best and the finish the worst. Describe your favorite Bordeaux and then pair everything back 3-4 times; that’s this wine. Decent value at £25, but unmemorable in every regard. If someone asks me if I have had this in 3yrs I probably wouldn’t be able to recall it, hence the need for Delectable :). Somehow I have one more bottle of this exact vintage in the U.S. Not sure how I acquired that. — 7 years ago

No note on Delectable since May 2017 - 473 weeks ago. Smoked meat, Asian spices - an intoxicating nose. On the medium bodied palate - sweet red fruits with spices. Tim Kirk, the owner and winemaker said at the time it was the best Shiraz Viognier he had ever made for what is considered the benchmark for this blend in Australia. 98 points from HH and 18.5 points+ from Jancis. Very detailed as you would expect from Tim Kirk. — 6 days ago
