This is quite a deal. $17??
The nose on this wine is deceptive. Spicy and savory. In the mouth, however, it is very light and supple. Fruit forward (strawberry and plum) with some violet. Very round edges, almost completely integrated tannins at 6 years young. Way too easy to drink. I wouldn't sit on this for much longer than 3 years.

A lively crisp Chardonnay fleshing out nicely at 7 years in a very good place. From the cool climate Beechworth area in the gravelly soils in the foothills of the Victorian Alps. Great balance - not too lean and not too Dolly Parton. Savaterre is a neighbour of Giaconda , one of Australia’s best Chardonnays. — 7 years ago

Mid Lemon in colour. Vanilla oak aromas - peachy and rich. On the palate yellow peach and cream with Medium plus intensity. This style was popular in Australia in the 80’s and 90’s - think Rosemount Roxburgh and coined the style as “Dolly Parton” for obvious reasons. For lovers of full bodied Chardonnay. I hadn’t had a Chardonnay like this for a while and it was enjoyable. Ripe fruit, a touch too much oak and a great viscous texture on the palate. One of the 1001 Wines. — 6 years ago

What a difference (almost) a year makes. Stunning nose. Super aromatics. Yowza. Smokey mountain Nebbiolo. Yum. Isn’t that a Dolly Parton song? Old books. Earth, leather, so so good, feral and savory. Wow. Really. 9.4 nose. Wow. Super sweet and refined palate with amazing purity and super velvety tannins. Showing so well now. So distinctive and unique.
