Les Ecusseaux Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru Pinot Noir 1999

I expected more given the price. Diminished red fruit, the tertiary is there but it fell flat. Kind of gravel like. Med body, med- nose. Meh. — 6 months ago

Found several, had no idea bought multiple from Moore Brothers. Terrific library wine surviving here for over a year. Still got that freshness and lift and subtle complexity that made me want to just taste and not eat. That’s saying something. — 8 months ago

Clos du Roi Beaune Pinot Noir 1995

Double decanted. Light ruby color with a pronounced brick colored rim. Aromas of soy sauce balsamic vinegar, leather , forest floor and dried red cherry fruit. Flavors of mushrooms, tobacco, dried cherries and mint. Mineral note on the medium finish. Very little tannin but acidity is still plentiful. Slightly reductive, but well structured and balanced. Just kept evolving in the glass. Past its prime but quite interesting. Thanks for sharing, Kase! — 6 months ago

Just fantastic! Great balance and complexity! Robust dark fruit, mild barnyard and oak, so many layers! Age has done it well but it was many years to grow! — 7 years ago

Just released a few months ago, and still so youthful after 20 yrs. Forest floor, mushrooms, cherry, and subtle cigar box flavors. Shows what a beautifully aged burgundy can be. — 7 years ago

1969 - Well structured and vigorous. Porcini mushroom, damp soil and tobacco give way to muted sour-cherry, red plum and tea. Round and rich in the mouth with a nice balance of fruit, tannin and acidity. — 10 years ago

Dark golden color. Lemon curd, honey, pear, touch of tangerine citrus, love the freshness and acidity on the mouth that had the wine showing much younger than its 22 yrs. — 11 years ago
