Leftovers from our 2nd Annual, “Bierock Bonaza: Let’s have some funza with Runza”.

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of three hours. The 2015 pours a deep ruby with a slightly purple tinge and a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of lightly stewed, spiced strawberry, ripe fig, and cherry lozenges, red flowers, green herbs, with a touch of leather, and a mix of organic and inorganic rocky earth. Just the faintest hint of mouse. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. The alcohol is also medium+. Delicious. Drink now through 2030.

Banger. 07 Charmes, from 100+ year old vines right across from Chambertin, is a fabulous rendition in this vintage, seductive and complex wafting a dark fruited and gamey bouquet laced with violets and black tea. The palate is superbly concentrated, detailed and impeccably balanced with a finish that keeps on going. A particularly youthful ‘07 Grand Cru red burg. Long life ahead! — 2 days ago

This falls in the category of excellent qpr. At roughly 10€, this a solid everyday drinker. Full bodied, good fruit and mouth watering acidity. Championed by Jeb Dunnuck who consistently gives this 95 points. Recommended. — a month ago

This is nice but not the showstopper of their other Grand Cru. Leaner, soft, nicely ripe berries-lead with raspberries, cherries, strawberries & some pomegranate. Nice red and pink roses.
