Bright pink in colour - unusually for a Rose this is a Cabernet Shiraz blend. Stewed red fruits - cherries and strawberries. Enjoyable unfussy drinking. — 10 months ago

Blackberry, blueberry, vanilla, spice in the middle. I believe the first time I've had Mencia. It's good. Medium mouthfeel, some pleasant tannins; dry. If it stays balanced it could age a few more years. Good alone or with food (meatballs in red sauce with onion on a sandwich with provolone and Duke's mayo). — 9 years ago

Sparkling Shiraz is a tradition in Australia on Christmas Day. Bought this at Dukes Cellar Door 2 days ago. Very different to Barossa Sparkling like Rockford Black which, while good is much sweeter. This was savoury earthy and minerally - quite dark in colour. A great accompaniment to Turkey and Ham. — 7 years ago

This is actually a really interesting wine, it's a supplier sample and I dare say we will be selling this very soon.

It's the 2013 Duke's Magpie Hill Reserve Sparkling Riesling, yes, Riesling. The nose is an initial burnt toast with a clear secondary of Maple Syrup, whaaat? The palate is acidic and very citrusy so it doesn't follow the nose, but I really like it. The finish is short, sharp and acidic, this would go so well as a refreshing finish to a Friday! 😜 — 11 years ago
