Hampton liquor $22? — 9 months ago
I usually like Barolo from La Morra but this was somewhat of a dud. Very surprising as 2016 was an excellent year. It was unidimensional from opening to a few hours later. Shy nose, dark cherry, licorice and more mineral than undergrowth on the palate, and the finish was the highlight with a long leathery finish where hints of spice finally appeared. Maybe an off bottle given the ratings?
Different bottle a couple years later in September 2025 - much better - the prior bottle must have bern a bad bottle. This bottle has all the smoothness spice earth and cherry- based complexity that reflects the excellent 2016 vintage. Still a bit of grippy tannins at the finish. Very happy with this bottle. — 2 years ago
This 2019 is drinking now although a little tannic in mid palate for sipping on its own. Add food snd it’s a whole different story. Paired perfectly with a pan seared big eye tuna steak. Cherry and licorice aromas and grilled cherry is primary fruit on palate. A great value Nebbiolo when A Barolo is out of reach, about $25 retail. — 4 years ago

Ready to drink now after one hour decant. It just sings. Rich Nebbiolo. Earthy and smoky nose. Mushroom, leather, oak, and tar on the palette. — 4 months ago
Old school showing restraint and tradition. However, the fruit is a bit muted cherry and takes a backseat to earthy tones of forest floor, leather, and dried herbs. Tannins are firm yet balanced, and the finish carries a touch of tar and rose.
A solid entry level Barolo. — a year ago
This weekend we opened the 2018 Domenico Clerico Azienda Agricola Di Viberti Giuliana-Monforte D' Alba Barolo.
On the nose there is cherry, raspberry, cranberry, licorice, roses, clay pots and dusty soil.
On the palate there is cherry, raspberry, cranberry, anise, rose hip, leather and dried herbs.
This wine is medium to full bodied medium+ to high acidity and medium+ firm tannins that move into a long red and black fruit leathery finish. Enjoy the weekend and please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 3 years ago
Often referred to as “Baby Barolo.” Bright ruby color. Red/black cherry fruit aromas with a hint of balsamic. Bright cherry flavors with touches of leather and earth. Full bodied with a long and lingering finish. Tannins are noticeable and rounded, but they are not overwhelming. Good balance and nice freshness. — 4 years ago
Nice wine from the share, but this app wasn't functioning a few weeks ago when we drank it and now I can't remember many specifics. Medium body Italian — 7 years ago
HWT - Eric especially liked it, it was a rich and robust red that went well with food. $122 is pricy though — 10 months ago
1997 vintage. Plenty of time to decant and it opened to a very complex and balanced wine. Cherry, olive, green pepper, leather, hay, eucalyptus, earthy with nice minerality. Has an umami character. For me…a little funk of barnyard and brett make it muah! — 3 years ago
