Lighter medium body over pale burgundy color, with purple hues deeply embedded within. Took a while to open up, but once the nose started opening up the ripe red fruit, crunchy acidity and notes of bark, plum, leeks, and cracked pepper started to show. The palate is deep and old world, with hints of earth, smoke, even some BBQ sauce. Main palate is cranberry, tart cherry, and dark plum, with a LOT of energy and life, with some bramble, and really, this could age for another 40 years or more easy. — 6 months ago
Perfect on a warm Sedona afternoon! — 3 years ago
Very fine Chateauneuf du Pape from Costco. Winemaker was Guillaume Gonnet. Drinks smooth and rich, subtle berry flavors and herbs du Provence. I’ve had some C du Papes that were a bit harsh, but not this one for about $20. Almost as good as a Hermitage. — 3 years ago
Not a Rose. This easy drinking blend of Grenache/Syrah was a delightful find under $20. Check it out definitely. — 5 years ago
[No longer a Cotes du Rhône but now an AOC in its own right and deservedly so] Excellent purity with a noticeable Syrah component. Voluptuous and refined at the same time, this is absolutely delightful. — 7 years ago
Excellent with rainbow trout! Crisp and bright. — 4 months ago

Tasty red! 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah, medium weight, medium finish, what you would want from a clean, crispy CDP — 3 years ago
Buttermilk & underripe mandarin on the nose with buttermilk again on the palette and riper mandarin juice, creamy but zingy at the end

Dry rose from our friends at Primrose, DC — 6 years ago
After 6 years this is starting to really strut its stuff and live up the exalted status of this great 1er Cru. Nose of lemon zest, lemon curd, mineral, kiss of oak, a little muted for now as a bit cold but palate is unreal. Huge density and richness with terrific acidity and freshness. Massively mineral finish with serious structure and concentration. Finish is compact and comes across as massive yet closed. Very pure and just superb quality. Very complex finish and really all the way through.Stunning showing. Great terroir. Wish i would have waited longer and i rarely say that. — 7 years ago
