No ratings on this wine in a while it seems. The 2024 vintage is quite quaffable, although more tannin than I’d expect in a carbonic wine. Perhaps semi-carbonic, with some time on that 100% whole cluster following the carbonic maceration? 2017 vintage. Staff Burgundy tasting. Last tasted 1.24.26 (9.2), 7.7.25 (9.2) and 1.5.25 (9.3). Really unified and consistent with a medium body currently. 10 bottles left but stock option of 3 cases of the selfsame 2017 available. Will be exercising that option. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. Black plastic cork; the standard for Dard et Ribo. The 2015 “Les Rouges des Baties” pours a deep, dull ruby/purple with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of wild black brambles, oil cured olive, roasted meat, purple flowers, black pepper, a mix of organic and inorganic earth and dried herbs. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. An utterly beautiful expression of Crozes-Hermitage and this worked really well with goose from South Dakota. I’m smitten. Drink now through 2035. — 2 months ago

2018 vintage. Some rusticity. Some earthiness. Some dark fruited goodness. Medium body. Decently balanced now. Nothing in front dominating/focused and this needs another 3-4 years to really start rolling but slowing coming into port when it wants to.
