Boekenhoutskloof

The Chocolate Block Cinsault Blend

Really good wine but remembered it better. Maybe I aerated it too well but lacked some of its usual smooth punch. — 3 days ago

Rickety Bridge

Foundation Stone Red Blend 2015

This is a nice “easy-to-drink” wine! Soft enough for almost any pallet yet pairs with so many things: burgers, red meat, cheese, fruit, or just sip! — 3 years ago

Franschhoek Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Vintage 2022 | much character! Purple rim. Cassis, leather. Infanticide but so much potential. We tasted the wine after popped and pour, I am sure with a few hours decanter my appreciation would be + 0,2. The wine screams for food, as tannins are very present now. — 2 months ago

Ha! Had this last week in Cape Town! It was good, balanced, rich but couldn’t quite connect with it because it was so tanniny

Anthonij Rupert

Franschhoek Valley Syrah 2015

Allright! My one thousandth posted wine on Delectable. And just the right occasion to do so. We are sitting here in a tent in the middle of the bush of South Africa sipping a Shiraz of Anthonij Rupert from Stellenbosch. Fresh, uplifting Shiraz that drinks more like a cool climate Syrah. Strong oak tannins fighting with the dry red cherry, fig fruit. Cheers!!! Up to the next thousand…. Wow what was that sound 😳 — 3 years ago

2022 vintage. Absolutely delightful. Bright but complex chardonnay. Oaked, can stand up to spicey food. — 9 months ago

Lynx

Shiraz 2018

Dark & rich on the nose with blackberry jam, cassis, raw beef, black olives and tobacco leaf. And a refreshing menthol - allspice - cloves whiff.
Very smooth on the palate, with surprising lightness and impressive balance & poise. Rich, without the weight, the tannins mellow, the acidity fresh. Velvety towards the long finish with a spicy aftertaste.
Seductive and very pleasing, def. more New World rather than Rhône.
Simply delicious with a good rib eye!
