Fratelli Serio Battista Borgogno Albarella Barolo 2020, Piedmont, Italy
Pale ruby in color with light intensity.

Medium bodied with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with cherries, currants, light plums, black pepper, earth, light vegetables, herbs, light oak, black coffee and wet leaves.

This is a delicious Barolo. Smooth, soft and yummy right out of the bottle. Complex, with nice balance and elegance.
Still very young and has good potential to become a 94+ point wine. Will age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.

Love the Piedmonts. A little chalky at first but opened up to apricots and floral. But stayed mineral at the finish — 8 years ago
Cardamom, fresh cut hay, green peas on the nose. The palate really jumps out with raisins, currants, and fig. A delicate little truffle note hides in the backdrop with a strong cherry core. Save for a special chocolate dessert. — 11 years ago
The 2008 Fratelli Serio and Battista Borgogno Nebbiolo d'Alba is a really tasty treat. 100% Nebbiolo, mainly from Diano D'Alba, it has a pretty ruby color and a nice smoky aroma. You'll get a mouthful of spice and raspberries upon tasting it. Definitely fruitier than most of the classic Piedmont varietals, this wine still obviously has years to mature and turn into something really special. — 11 years ago
Drank for KOWE 2025 holiday dinner. Very delicious? — 3 months ago
Typical Nebbiolo profile, but without any special character. Drank too young, but don’t see how it would really gain a whole lot in the next few years besides softening the tannins. Decent — a year ago

Really, really good shit! Not masterful, not perfect....but classic, honest and un-barriqued! — 11 years ago
Pale reddish in color with light intensity.
Light red fruits on the nose, and medium bodied with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Tangy finish with round tannins and tangy pomegranates.
This 5 year old Barolo is young and elegant. Showing nice balance with good structure.
Has enough acidity to last it for a while. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 7 years.
Easy drinking and better with food.

Good but not great. Too expensive for what it is. Probably too young. Nice sour cherry but thin. Should be better and more robust — 21 days ago
