Hospices de Nuits

Les Didiers Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2005

9.6

Elevage by Faiveley. Les Didiers is next to Les Saint Georges. Very much in the zone right now. Elegant for Nuits St. Georges. — 8 months ago

Les Damodes Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

Found a hidden gem crossing through Burgundy and a quick stop in Cote de Nuits. Never experienced a Pinot with such red fruit freshness and a strong back bone of minerality and fine grained tannins. Narrow on the palate, focused but with great depth and a long lingering finish. — 3 years ago

Romanée St Vivant Grand Cru Pinot Noir

Spectacular bottle! Colors changes from light brown to dark red with complex aromas of fruit, earth and initially some cigar. Beautifully balanced with later aromas of coca! Superb finish with all the prettiness of an RSV! — 5 years ago

This bottle had the Suchots signature about as clearly as any. But was upstaged by the Rousseau and Moillard at lunch yesterday — 2 years ago

Les Saint-Georges Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

Mellow, medium body Burgundy from Nuits-Saint-Georges. Pleasant to drink. Didn’t quite have the mineral and acidic backbone structure I had hoped for and expected from a premier cru. — 3 years ago

Cuvée Georges Faiveley Les Saint Georges Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 1999

Dark fruit on the nose with a slightly chlorinated note. Cool and focussed at the front of the palate. Good NSG depth. As it finishes slightly thinning with drying oak. Decent but in an odd place right now. It might resolve but it’ll be a masculine wine if it does. — 7 years ago

Beau-Versant Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir 2013

2013 vintage. Decanted and tasted over the course of 1.25 hours. Light-medium body. A little tart throughout with a gooseberry note. Thought it might improve slightly with a little time in the decanter but stayed the same throughout. 3.28.24. — 2 years ago

Hospices de Nuits Les Didiers Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2012

Wow! This wine is terrific! Lovely mouthfeel here with tart red fruits and a savory/Sous Bois character that makes me wonder if whole cluster was used. Long and complex. — 4 years ago

Domaine Hubert Lignier

Les Saint Georges Hospices de Nuits Nuits-St.-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2014

Double decanted at Ma Cuisine. Charming from the get go. Attractive nose of sweet spices and cool red berry fruit. Quite Vosne like. Very elegant and smooth on the palate, while slight astringency gives way to NSG. Later learned that the fruit is owned by Hospice de Nuits. Even more impressive considering Hubert Lignier doesn't own the vineyards. Personally a fan of Les St George made by Lignier and Faiveley. I have go to try the Chevillon and Gouge to see how the style differs for this terroir! — 8 years ago
