The new vintage! Yay! Just a stunning nose that is at once confectionary, opulent and chiseled. Just insane. It has that aromatic roundness that very very few wines get. Like an orb of Cassaneas. Lime zest, sea salt, green apple skins. Unreal clarity. What a palate. Concentrated and deep but showing a bit of shock (arrived 5 days ago) and seems a bit clipped on the mid and finish. But man the length tells me this will expand like a peacock’s tail. Unreal density and concentration but is light as a feather. So juicy and acid is very good but it’s no 22 or 21. Think 19 or 17. Nose is so saline. Man the energy and almost tannic grip on the palate is brilliant as it fleshes out. This will be tracked tonight. Wow with a few hours of air this is like a better 18 Cassaneas and that’s the best one ever. This now has an icing on cake texture and outstanding purity, depth, texture and freshness. 9.6. Wow. On Day 2 this is even more elegant and is so close to a 9.7. What a wine! — 2 months ago
Such an amazing wine. Nose is soaring with almost hallucinogenic levels of spice and tobacco. Such a wide spectrum. So good. Dried roses. Some cherry peeking through. Sweet spices coming through as well. Juicy and tannic but man oh man is this concentrated, fierce and burly but all in proper balance. What a finish. Huge tannins but air will mellow. I’ll be back.
Wow after a day open this is completely harmonious like an orb on the palate and has that super elegance that is rare in Ghemme. 9.5 to 9.6. — a year ago
I love this wine. Dark and sinewy nose as it goes for this 1er Cru. Blackberry, blackberry flower, dark cherry, blueberry, almost smells like a N.Rhone Gamay/Syrah blend from Cornas. Wild. Amazing nose. 9.5 or 9.6. Loads of moss and wet earth. Really complex and compelling. Oh wow, what a palate. Like an orb. So round yet structured, sweet and deep. Blue and red fruits galore and such high quality fruit here. Best one ever. Sappy and fresh with such intensity and explosiveness but that hint of opulence and roundness is utterly compelling. A wow wine. Sick stuff. Can’t wait to see how this evolves. Dizzying complexity on the nose now. That wet/dry moss is so stunning. This is genius. After two hours superb spice on the nose. Awesome inner mouth aromas, dark fruit and energy for days. — 16 days ago
Outrageous nose here. Wet earth galore. White peach, spice and citrus. White and pink grapefruit. The fruit on this nose is unconscious. Blown away. There are white flowers and all of it is just perfume. So gorgeous. The peach and now apricot with air is just so vivid and clear. This is a brilliant wine. What a palate. So juicy and vivid with such astonishing purity. The peach flesh and skins are expressed in similar proportions. It’s so balanced and clean with just terrific freshness. Scintillating acidity and freshness. This is an orb of perfection on the palate. Just a genius bottle of wine. The wispy, subtle effect is balanced by the clarity of the fruit and the terrific acidity. Brilliant! Terriffuc structure and a controlled density. — 10 months ago
As usual with this 1er cru at Buffet the nose is stunning. Mid season cherries, dust, minerals, flowers and smoke. Holding back some but what is there is so detailed and expressive. What a palate. Which now is ahead of the nose. Sleek and juicy with such a compactness to it. Like an orb. So elegant and lacey with top notch delicacy. Just so well balanced and classic. This is 21! Nose is now singing! So expressive. Layered and ebullient! Acid is so good and the energy is palpabale. — a year ago
Wow. The rarest E and M wine. Blend of the oldest vines from the Grand Crus. Holy crikey. This is insane. The nose has a depth that is rare in Pinot Noir and I’ve smelled a lot of Pinot Noir. Sick. 9.9 nose. Ripe late season cherries, cranberry bog, dark black cherries and sour cherries. It’s got all the cherries, but only the best cherries. Wow. Stunning level of spice and flowers. Just psycho. So complete and endless. Ridiculous. Palate is all there but man does it need air. Which I will give it. Tart cherries, cranberries and huge acidity and freshness with enormous concentration, power and structure. Long long finish that is fresh and nimble. Genius elite wine of the highest level. Tannins are big but ripe and so sweet. Cannot wait to see my score rise with air. The Chambertin. of Germany! With air the minerality on the nose shines through. Wow so airy and mineral on top of all that fruit! Man the palate is sweetening up. Tannins are getting velvety. My god this is elite wine. Insane inner mouth aromas. Keeps opening up. Now after 3 hours of air it’s just ridiculous. Nose is an orb of complexity. Spicey, feral, soil tones. Insane perfume. Cherry skins, black cherry flesh. Oh man what a sweet, velvety and insanely deeply fruited palate. Amazing delineation all the way through. A real deal 9.8. Profound. Big and soft and so precise. — 2 years ago
LOVE when this shitty app eats an almost 500 word tasting note. I love it. Anyway. This nose is inane. Meyer lemon that is pure, clean and crystallized in a way that is just next level. It’s so focused and pointed. There is a lemon sweetness on this nose that is just super elite. The background is all minerals but this nose floats. There’s an almost Mosel Rieslingesque affectation here. Like Weiser-Kunstler. The wet earth, which this cuvée is known for needs some hours to come out but when it does, and it will, the nose will go from 9.7 to 9.9, just like 21 and 22. The powdered minerals really is channeling dry Mosel or even Nahe. That palate is just insane. Unreal orb like insanity and then detonates with the lemony intensity of a thousand mini perfect Meyer lemons all exploding at once. It’s so intense. Like stop you in your tracks. The lemon sweetness is just incredible. It’s so pure. Like Icelandic glacial water runoff pure. The opulence balanced by the electric acidity makes this conscious on your palate. Crazy inner mouth aromas. Elegance is top and the finish is long and winding. Wow the lemony intensity with flesh, pith and sweetness is just insane. This is genius wine. 9.7 for now but air will tell the story. The sap and extract on the finish is just insane. After 24 hours this was crazy. It got richer, but kept that acid line firm and had the most insane texture. — a month ago
Wow that nose penetrates. Deep honey, minerals and lime blossoms. Lime zest as well. Green apple and pear and such depth to the nose. Gorgeous. 9.7 nose. Haunting. Has that extra that serves this up into the stratosphere. Wow this is unreal. Elegant with crushed rock minerality, green apple, pear and some citrus fruit but has this zen serene quality to it that is to die for. Just brilliant. So pure and balanced. Unreal amplitude on the palate and so zesty. A perfect orb of wehlener sonnenuhr. Finish is an elegant and dissipated so beautifully. Utterly classic but lifted by an extra profundity. — a year ago
Green Cap. Exudes class. Nose gets confectionary after a while. Crazy confectionery. So aromatic and complex. Palate is like an orb with no edges due the kisses of sugar. So refined and finesse driven. Pillow like texture. A marvel but needs maybe 15+ years really if I am being honest. — a year ago

Sick nose. Red cherries, strawberries, so floral. Just insane. Like a whisper being shouted: Some mulch and wet earth. Watermelon. Cranberry. Pastille. Red fruited. Lilacs. Minerals. This is insane. Juicy and clean with some wood but achingly gorgeous palate. So juicy and young but unreal finesse and a loose texture. So clean and pure. Unreal texture. Will track. Best red fruited nose maybe ever. The mineral energy is off the charts. Sweet red fruitiness. Stunning. After 7 hours open the nose has integrated into an orb of roses, florals and strawberry all equal. Palate is integrated between mineral and fruit with just the most stunning velvety tannins. Wow. — 14 days ago
