Rough - in a good way. Very dry, short finish. A pepper, clove, dark chocolate and mature fruit. — 7 months ago
2015 vintage. Côte Blonde. Still very young, with impressive purity and mineralty. This is more about finesse than sheer power. Showing even better the next day. — 4 years ago
Condrieu. 2018 vintage. Viognier partly fermented and aged in egg-shaped cement vats.Flowers and exotic fruit (ripe pineapple, passion fruit). Rich ripe fruit with very good acidity and the typical Condrieu bitter structure. Long finish with retronasal exotic fruit, almonds and an intriguing minerality. A great effort and another winner from Jaboulet. — 4 years ago
This producer has been batting 1000 recently. Nose is beautiful butterscotch and birthday cake. Plus paw paw and orange creamsicle, palate has fabulous acid and some nice minerals, also very long. Quite honeyed but with a wonderful phenolic bite, lingers unbelievably long. Great right out of the gate. — 5 years ago
Reticent nose, fine tannins, still very primary, very enjoyable but better to wait another 10 years for this. — 5 years ago
At tannins upfront. Berns Steak House. In the 8T room Last bottle. Bottled candled and decanted. Mild dusty dark fruit bouquet. Soft dusty delicate middle. Old world earthiness. Finishes smooth. — 3 months ago
New Years Eve dinner - which red wine to drink?! 🤔
Finally settled on an old favorite - Paul Jaboulet Hermitage.
Did not disappoint - smooth, concentrated fruits, with a hint of earthy, charcoal, tobacco.
Nice way to end our wine drinking for 2025, here’s to more great wines in 2026! 🥂 — 6 months ago

Lovely aromas of smoke, candle wax, marshmallow, garrigue and peach. Medium acidity with a medium-bodied waxy texture. Refreshing — a year ago
2012 vintage. Old vine Syrah ( 60+ years) on granite soils on very steep slopes. Much more intense and mineral compared to the 2012 Thalabert tasted alongside ( as reflected in the higher price tag). Profound, intense and long, this could be mistaken for Hermitage. A terrific wine from a vintage that remained under the radar Abv. 13,5%. — 4 years ago
2020 vintage. Another winner from Jaboulet and a great example of this under-the-radar northern Rhône appellation. Peaches, flowers and subtle spices. Crisp fruit and good almondy length and a hint of fresh mint. — 4 years ago
Funky but I’d get it again — 5 years ago

Good northern rhone. 2015 vintage mature in 2025. $35. — 7 months ago
Very good. Medium body with a strong but not dominant dark fruit, smoked meat & leather. — 7 months ago
2013 vintage. The second wine of La Chapelle, that is now named " Maison Bleue", but an excellent wine in its own right. At 9 years old this is absolutely gorgeous with an expressive nose of blackberries, wild flowers, pepper and leather, enhanced by a subtle smokiness. In the mouth it combines power with elegance, with pure fruit, subtle spices, silky tannins and great length. Terrific value if the mythical La Chappelle doesn't fit your budget. Earthy with notes of herbs and stone. — 5 years ago
Very nice. Fully bodied. Really good

Sipping Fine Wine
Medium Ruby red color with aromas of red fruits, floral and spice notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with notes of black pepper, floral and spice. Fine soft tannins, long juicy savory finish, ending with fruit, cacao, spice and slight earthy notes. Need to wait a few years, will cellar! — 23 days ago
