Might be Bourgogne but it is from a very excellent vintage. That’s when you buy them.

The entry is a bit waxy, warm & inviting. Meyer lemons with a slight sour tone, tart green apples, lime with zest, soft, round, tropicals, dry, grainy limestone & chalk, white spice with some heat, hues of caramel, honeysuckle notes, mid saline, powered sea fossils, some wood here, yellow & spring flowers with greens, round, pleasant acidity, good balance-tension-structure and nicely polished & elegant finish that lasts 90 seconds & lands firmly on volcanics & spice. — 6 months ago

2018 opened in 2025. Floral and pink peppercorn on the nose, along with a concentrated raspberry. The taste profile is a palindrome of the nose. The age gives texture, interconnected beds and depth. The silence is a note. — a year ago

"The Stones hold the secret" Just sorta felt like a Cayuse kinda Friday. A 2012 En Cerise Vineyard—Literally translated, it means “cherry”—which is appropriate since the 10-acre vineyard planted in 1998 was a cherry orchard in its former life. A 4-hour decant, it exhibited none of the trademark Cayuse funk on the nose. I'm sure it blew off as a result of the lengthy decant, but I kinda missed it if I'm being honest. Cherry compote with some road tar on the finish. Velvety texture. Plush, layered with a good backbone. Nice finish. I'd say 9.4/10. I'm a fan of Christophe. This is Clos St Jean at a fraction of the price. Can't wait for "Hors Catagorie." Christophe, if you're listening, put me down for a case! — 9 years ago
