Medium ruby with a narrow garnet rim . Touch more dense , slightly high toned nose , deeper and darker, riper fruits , touch smoky , dark cherry , liquorice. On the palate this is quite dense and tannic , with balanced acidity . Darker , deeper fruits, with blackberry , red plum and dark cherry , liquorice hints . Good length with menthol hint . Needs time still another 3-4 years and will last well a further 5-10 years . A denser , meaty and darker style , — 2 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. No formal notes due to the setting but I’m pleased to report that the 2018 “Très Girard” is positively delightful at this stage of its evolution. Still developing, there is a pleasant mix of dark and red fruit with earth and spice and enough structure to gracefully continue its evolution over the next 10 to 15 years. Drink now through 2038. — 2 months ago
