'Mon Plaisir' Chardonnay

Weeknight treat. Medium body, creme brulee on nose and some custardy finish but great acid. Just so many great things to love in this chardonnay. I still prefer Ma Belle Fille — 2 months ago

Château des Trois Chardons

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 1995

Violets, dark fruits, still tannic and structured, owned and produced by the family of the cellar master of Chateau Palmer, this is wonderful Margaux, needs more cellaring (5-10 years??), excellent juice!! — 2 months ago

@Scott@Mister A’s-San Diego -an Interestingly enough, I used to subscribe to Claude Kolm’s wine journal, he’s the one who raved about this property. Then I found an in-bond source for the 1994-1996 and 1998-1999 in Glasgow (Scotland), and purchased cases of each vintage. Finally, by then (early 2000s) my brother had started his wine importing company, so I had the cases shipped to southern France to one of his producers who added the 5 cases to an incoming shipment as “samples” (legal at that time). Circuitous, but worth it for what’s in the bottle!! 🤷🤷

Bosquet des Papes

A La Gloire De Mon Grand-Père Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2022

Ruby in color with a reddish rim.

Nice nose of fresh red fruits.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with cherries, plums, light oak, chocolates, licorice, coffee, spices, tobacco leaf, light earth and herbs.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a delicious Grenache from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Elegant and nicely balanced.

The 2022 vintage was excellent, and it shows. Already drinking beautifully. Very approachable, complex and rich.

The high alcohol is already well integrated. Easy drinking right out of the bottle, and better with airtime.

Still young, and needs 5 years in the bottle to mature properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Has good potential to become a 94+ point wine.

Very tasty by itself as a sipping wine or with food.

A blend of 98% Grenache with a touch of Cinsault and Clairette. Grapes from 70 year old vines were aged in large French oak barrels for 15 months. A small production of less than 8,000 bottles.

15.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$80.
