Dark ruby color. Aromas of black fruit, leather, jalapeño peppers, fresh herbs a touch of barnyard funk. Bright black and red berry/currant fruit on the palate with hints of black licorice, cedar and the aforementioned fresh herbs. Long finish and firm tannins. Quite fresh tasting and elegant. Strong, classic Graves Bordeaux. The cab franc was certainly present on the nose, perhaps because this was the sipping wine next to a 2009 Olga Raffault Chinon. Still good presence of darker fruits, with leather, earth and cedar. Nice mouthfeel. — 5 years ago

May not have the character of say a Baudry or Raffault Chinon, but still a profoundly true-to-terroir Chinon with all that fine grained dark berry earthiness, low on the funko-meter, & just plain ol’ low alcohol fun. Paired with brunch cheesy egg casserole of Gruyère, nutmeg, Parmesan etc that soaks overnight in Half & Half. — 2 years ago
