Les Collines Vineyard Syrah 2017

Beautiful cool climate Syrah, poised and with finesse.
Black fruit on the nose with some leather accents, an uplifting flower note and a pinch of black pepper. Fresh, enticing, witht nice purity.
Quite light on the palate, poised, almost delicate. Nice flow & definition here with purity and a bit of depth. The typical Syrah notes come forward more towards the back.
More in the Pinot camp than Chateauneuf & is drinking beautifully right now.

Cuvée Aux Petites Noix Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2016

The 2016 “Cuvèe Aux Petites Noix” pours a very pretty ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart and ripe red fruits: raspberries, strawberries, cherry, and some warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. A lovely wine showing well in its early drinking window. To my palate, better after 2031 and through 2041. — 10 months ago

This wine is in one word, intoxicating. Fantastic nose of brambles, fresh blackberry, red currant, lavender, grilled beef, wood smoke, freshly cracked black pepper. Palate with tight tannins, med + acidity, fresh and tart blackberry, blueberry, sauvage. Spectacular value at 22 usd. Needs 5 years, but this is why I drink wine. @Lyle Fass — a month ago

Vin de Pays des Collines Rhodaniennes Syrah 2023

This 2023 is an affordable “ Brother” of the northern Rhône. All about light bodied freshness and nuance, hints at it s big brothers in Crozes Hermitage. Will be a delightful picnic wine as the warmer weather arrives. Under $20 a bottle. — 10 months ago

Thomas Gerrie Les Collines Vineyard Syrah 2016

Red and blue fruit aromas and flavors, some oak influence, round, ripe, but not at all hot (14% ABV), long, lingering finish, very fine Washington Syrah!! — 3 months ago

Syrah des Collines 2021

A little more open than my last bottle a year ago. Love the pure granitic stanky minerality on the nose. Some dark, tight, bright berry fruit and a spritz of pink grapefruit rind. So soft and gulpable in the mouth. Flavors veering more to the savory, stony side than fruity. — 10 months ago

Grapefruit is a note I often get from Northern Rhone Syrah and people tell me I’m crazy. Thanks for making me feel vindicated.
