Quite nice. Decanted 2+ hours which I do think helped the finish come together a bit. Quite wonderful aromatically - very full with good dried flower notes. Medium tannins on the finish, but the acid is great and has that slight refreshing menthol lift I always enjoy. — 2 years ago

Nice barbaresco with a good bit of bottle age, but I fear we opened it too early and therefore it was not showing its best. Even with a 4 hour decant the nose was quite closed. Still would certainly have identified nebbiolo blind - the color, the nose, and the palate are quite traditional. Great acid holding things together at the end, and a long finish with quite integrated tannins. Nice but below expectations. Our only bottle - suggest holding a couple more years. — 5 years ago

We are at Machiavel, just next door to Clover Grill in Paris. Rocche dei Manzoni is a great Barolo producer. This is their basic Barolo, and we love it. Good length, polished tannins and freshly cut flowers with lots of red and dark fruits. Excellent now and can age well for a few years as well. Good stuff ! — 7 years ago

This is brut zero rose.

The aromatic nose shows pink grapefruit, strawberry, lime, light yeast, and hint of ginger. The palate is vivacious yet poised with round acidity, not something I expected from brut zero. Gentle persistent mousses.

Blend of PN and chard with 60 months on lees. Rocche dei Manzoni was the first winery (and one of the few) from Langhe to produce sparkling wine in tradition method. — 3 years ago

Very dark ruby color. Called Big d’ Big for a reason. Bold aromas of violets, pot pourri, leather and dark cherry. Intense flavors of black berry/cherry, figs, vanilla and baking spices. Firm tannins, full bodied and medium-plus acidity. Pretty well balanced. Aged in large barriques. This is a style of Barolo (very fruit forward) more suited to New World wine drinkers. Quite good. Palate is perfect cherry fruit. Just a kiss of cherry liquor. Stunning. Internal aromatics are cherry cherry flower spice

Purple flowers. Dense violet and rose petal perfume. Elegant; some spice and nailpolish. A touch volatile which, while it is light and works in this elegant style, detracts from the overall drinking experience. — 4 years ago

Excellent. Drank the 1985 in 2021 for my 36th birthday. The color was still good, the nose was wonderful, the legs were as slow as molasses. Great wood notes. When we opened it, we did break the cork. The cork was longer than usual and longer than our screw. It was salvaged with a chopstick and there was only one speck of cork found in the wine. Incredibly low sediment for the age — maybe a shot glass of sediment was left in the bottle when we tipped it. — 5 years ago
