Began as a dream of 2 friends, Ed Selyem & Burt Williams, who pursued weekend winemaking as a hobby in 1979 in a garage in Forestville, CA, and made their first commercial vintage in 1981. Deep Ruby red with aromas of berry fruits with citrus spice. On the palate flavors of cherry, blackberry & raspberry, cacao, with notes of vanilla and spice. Elegant fine tannins, long finish, lively acidity ending with fruit and sweet spice notes. Pricey but will not disappoint, worth a try! — 3 years ago
Rich tropical fruit intertwines with grapefruit, lemon and candied lime peel. — 3 years ago
This is, excuse me, a damn fine bottle of wine.
Worn leather, cigar smoke, and vanilla on the nose. Intense palate of overripe blackberry and cassis. Powerful but well integrated oak. Very long, complex finish.
Drank while watching a fan edit of Fire Walk With Me. Needs a solid decant. — a year ago
Blackberry, crushed blueberry, bark, and hints of green pepper. Beautiful bouquet with a solid structure and medium(+) finish. — 3 years ago
Phenomenal. Every other year I open one of these bottles from 2016 and the evolution keeps impressing me. On the nose, has a character of rainy ancient west coast forest. On the palate, Blackberry, blueberry, with hints of dark cherry. Blended perfectly with a rich, aged, leather. Hints of cedar wood, slightly smoked. Perfectly balanced. Only going to keep getting better over the next few years. — 3 years ago

Deep purple color. Soft berries/ cherries up front going to a dry middle. Finishes with a cocoa finish. — 2 years ago
Consumed young. Ripe strawberries and flint on the nose. Plums, fresh cut hay, raspberry and a hint of charcoal on the front. Light butterscotch and rhubarb on the front on the finish. Not a jammy wine. — 3 years ago

Really great. Needs about 3 hours of air. So well balanced. A lot of cocoa, blackberry, garden dirt, some tree bark, some chocolate cherries, but very dark, some menthol in the background, long finish, almost coffee and cocoa, some fruits as well. Outstanding! — 6 months ago
