Roc De Lussac

Château de Lussac

Lussac-St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

Blend of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%). Deep ruby color with purple highlights. Aromas of both red and black fruit, tobacco and violets. Flavors of red and black currant, blackberry and plum fruit, graphite and dark chocolate. Long and lingering finish. Medium-plus body. Excellent balance and structure. Quite bold and expressive, but very elegant as well. Soft tannins and velvety texture. Outstanding quality for the price. — 10 days ago

Lussac-St. Émilion Merlot Blend 1982

Had this at a forgotten bottle in your cellar party and it was like visiting an elegant mountain resort that has not been taken over by a corporation. Old fading elegance — a month ago

Roc d'Anglade

Vin de Pays du Gard Carignan Blend

Vibrant ruby with pure cherry, wild strawberry, and blackberry fruit. Subtle garrigue herbs, cinnamon spice, and a hint of licorice emerge on the nose and juicy mid-palate. Fine, velvety tannins, bright tangy acidity, and saline-mineral finish give tension and length—elegant Languedoc finesse. — 3 months ago

Château La Rose Perrière

Lussac-St. Émilion Merlot Blend 2019

Clay and juicy cassis. Black olive. Tannins taste like an old varnished bureau. This is the wine that made me love wine again — especially French wine — and motivated me to start systematically tasting and making notes. Then of course my liquor store stopped carrying it. I was delighted to find a bottle while traveling. Still a wonderful value and delicious, though age would improve it. 92 or … 93! — 5 months ago

Domaine Lafond

Roc Epine Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2016

This wine is in balance! Everything plays together so well. It’s a nice 10 year old wine, also the aged notes integrated so well with the vibrant red fruit coming from the Grenache. A little bit of Mouvedre and Syrah give it nice complexity. — a month ago
