Neal rosenthal does it again....medium gold in the glass..12%...aromas of cut green grass, ripe plum, savory herbs. Round, vibrant acid-forward, bringing in a touch of green bitter stem on the finish. Perfect with simple lemon/fennel halibut, Roman artichoke, and fluffy gnocchi with lamb sugo. Long, lingering finish... so many great Italian high acid white varietals. — 5 years ago
Ripping acidity, profoundly complex. Best with a red sauce. Another amazing Rosenthal find. — 7 years ago
Rose’s can be hard to pinpoint but Petite Mairie’s is unmistakenly Loire Cab Franc and that’s precisely what I love about this wine. If you like the stripped down vastly undervalued Loire red wines from greats like Guibertau, Baudry, Thierry Germain, Catherine and Pierre Breton, and so on, you’ll similarly appreciate this wine.
It has that pure herbal vegetal frame - artichoke, asparagus, and sage surrounding wet gravel and light berries. The flavors include fresh tilled soil , green bell pepper, and roasted red pepper. Really terrific from the Rosenthal portfolio. — 8 years ago

Green apple and lemon aromas. Medium body with good balance. Solid value from Rosenthal. — a year ago
Sold our home. Rich flavor. Decanted for recommended 2 hrs+. Imported by Rosenthal. — 4 years ago
Not a Lambrusco but performs as one- especially if you go room temperature & let the earthiness & more bitter notes come through. Has sweetness in balance. Went beautifully with orzo, pork/beef meatballs with Marcella Hazan recipe tomato sauce. Rosenthal importer — 6 years ago
2015 Bought at Liner & Elsen and consumed in Dec 2018. Typical Rosenthal import. Small production, beautifully crafted wine expressive of place. Perfect aperitif or after dinner wine, which is my preference. — 8 years ago
Another star in Rosenthal book but I’m a bit puzzled by the muted enthusiasm on Delectable. Sure, not the last word on complexity but what glory in classic chard & Macon notes. Rich & minerally mouthfeel, balanced. Yeah, for less than 15$ local. So what’s the problem? — 8 years ago

Vintage 2020 | Flint, strawberry, sweet plum. This wine has the swallow-factor, beautiful concentration, soft first impression, elegance. Definitely: like! Very balanced wine. Winefriend @Berry Marinussen gave a big compliment, the wine made him think of Burgundy - “I would not recognize this wine as German spätburgunder” — 2 years ago
Umm.. quite possibly my new house red. Rosenthal knows how to pick ‘em. Everything you want in a solid Chianti or Langhe Nebbiolo but from ultra unsexy Oltrepo Pavese in Lombardy (croatina, barbera, uva rara blend). All the acid you want in your northern Italian reds, but without the sometimes pesky green or harsh, drying Nebbiolo/ Sangiovese tannins. Red and black cherry, red and black currant, star anise, rose petal, with subtle herbal/earthy edge. Highly quaffable. Made for pizza / pasta nights. — 4 years ago

Weeknight Bordeaux with a Neal Rosenthal back label. — 6 years ago
Opening salvo in a night of delicious dinner courtesy of Howard Street Wine Merchants and Chef @Paul Kulik , the energy behind Le Bouillon. Our dinner guest was our friend John Paine from Rosenthal. Tonight was an evening of Burgundy, which outside of Chablis and Beaujolais, has always been a challenge for me. This was a delicious opener, if not an outlier. Regardless, a really tasty wine with bright red fruits of notable freshness. Not super complex but unique and always fun to drink Sancerre Rouge. — 7 years ago
