These white bones and white stones cuvees were very affordable a few years ago. Prices have caught up with the quality

Lazy Bones Paso Robles Cabernet Franc 2023

Yum! Great cab franc from Trader Joes (not necessarily a "great" Cab Franc but great in that it's from TJ and really really good) — 5 months ago

Domaine Jean-Louis Chave

Hermitage Blanc Marsanne Roussanne 2015

Where do I begin… this wine is stunning.

It is positively golden in color with concentrated notes of caramel, butterscotch, vanilla, creme brûlée, dried apricot, yellow apple, peach, nectarine, yellow cherry, kumquat, baked quince, lemon curd, honeysuckle, butter cream, lavender,, dried herbs, fennel, beeswax, honey, chamomile, hazelnut, praline, honey, & wet stones…

It’s textured!!! Waxy & mouth coating, full bodied, round, & opulent.

Alcohol is high at 14.5% ABV — it’s warming but balanced and integrated with the deeply rooted flavors and elevated, vibrant acidity. Yum!!!!!

@Dave Clinton It was! The opposite of a patio pounder 😂 as much as we love those, too. But damn, it was a wine to sip and savor slowly.

Broken Stones Red Rhone Blend 2012

9.4

This wine from Saxum is a great value — smooth, even fruit; great balance overall. 79% syrah, 7% petite sirah, 7% grenache, 5% mourvédre. 97 points from Robert Parker and $129 when I bought it from K&L although market looks more like $160 now. — 4 months ago

Stones No. 2 Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Incredible right out of the bottle! In perfect harmony - delightfully gentle tannins and perfectly matched acidity. Blueberry liqueur, blackberry, baking spices, wet granite, dark chocolate, pipe tobacco. Absolutely incredible mouthfeel, soft, silky, gentle. With a nice long finish. What an enjoyable and pretty much perfect wine! — 5 months ago

Stones No. 1 Las Piedras Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Absolutely smoking PNP! Wow, will be fun to see this one develop over the next couple hours. But simply wonderful now. Very very dark in the glass. Blackberry preserves, camphor, wet graphite. Incredible mouthfeel, silky yet grippy tannins. Perfectly in tune now. Just a fantastically enjoyable wine! — 2 months ago

Domaine Leflaive

Les Pucelles Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2004

Medium lemon yellow , though within expectations for a 22 year old white Burgundy . Touches of smoky butter , lemon peel, red apple , ginger, chalky with wet stones and a touch of hazelnut . Complex , open and inviting on the nose , some development but still quite fresh and lively . On the palate this is intense with good grip , again showing the freshness from the nose , lemon peel , chalky , touch of white peach, sea breeze and lightly toasty finish . Long refreshing, mineral tinged finish . Perfect now , though benefits from air , becoming more mineral and focused with time and will continues to show well over the next 5 -8 years , maybe longer . — 2 months ago

Broken Stones Paso Robles Syrah Blend 2019

Very good Syrah blend. Edgy and peppery. High alcohol content. First time with this wine for me. Needed a good hour plus of decant to open and soften. Drank very well. A bit too smoky and rustic to rank higher but very solid. — 5 months ago
