V17. Pretty good... opaque color. Smokey nose. Substantial black cherry fruit. Black pepper, chocolate and earthy finish. Nicely balanced . — 5 years ago
Mid to pale crimson - actually transparent. The pale colour belies the aromatic and palate intensity. Aromatics of cherry and raspberry transforming on to the medium bodied sweet red fruited palate. A touch of Sous Bois. An excellent Pinot as always from the Applejack Vineyard from Giant Steps. — 6 months ago

About as good as Aussie pinot gets. Aromatically explosive - dark spicy fruit, mushroomy funk, and a menthol/tobacco note . The palate is full bodied and silky without being heavy. The quality of the rich dark fruit needs the acid and honed tannins of a young vintage. This would make old bones given the balance, but I prefer the young precocious colt. This is serious and nothing like the Giant Steps pinots of previous notes. 94++ — 5 years ago
I agree with both sides here. Big giant fruit bomb but a league ahead of the competitors (Justin and Daou) because it has nice acidity and a long complex finish. Justin’s isosceles by comparison is a raisiny, overripe flabby mess of a wine. Definitely some RS on this wine but I can’t complain because my palate is refreshed from the acidity and reassured by the complex finish. In short gets my vote. 👍 — 5 years ago
Light and smooth. Peppery, cranberries, raspberries and coffee. Jammy on the finish. — 6 months ago

Mealy, brioche, mixed with fresh lemon and slate. Perfect balance of steely mineral, lemon sweetness, and buttery brioche. Wombat creek has been my favourite single vineyard Giant Steps a few times. This is outstanding. A complete wine. — 5 years ago

The best Pinot we have had, though at this price range, we should need to have a second choice 😳🫣🤣 — a month ago
