Cuvee Evdemon Santorini Assyrtiko 2020

The Iconic Wines of Estate Argyros – Santorini’s Volcanic Elegance in a Glass

On the windswept volcanic slopes of Santorini, Estate Argyros crafts some of the island’s most expressive and age-worthy wines. This historic family-run estate, founded in 1903, combines deep-rooted tradition with modern precision to showcase the full potential of Santorini’s unique terroir—defined by volcanic soils, scarce rainfall, and sun-drenched vineyards.

🍷 Cuvée Evdemon

One of the estate’s flagships, this biodynamic Assyrtiko is sourced from old, ungrafted vines and reflects power, minerality, and finesse. A wine of great depth and aging potential, with citrus oil, wet stone, and saline energy on the palate.

🍷 Cuvée Monsignori

Named after one of the oldest vineyards on the island, Monsignori is a single-vineyard expression of Assyrtiko, made from vines over 200 years old. It’s precise, textured, and layered—combining volcanic tension with elegant complexity.

🍷 Vinsanto 4, 12 & 20 Years

These legendary sweet wines, made from sun-dried Assyrtiko, Aidani, and Athiri grapes, are a tribute to Santorini’s history. Aged for years in oak barrels, they offer stunning aromas of dried apricot, honey, caramel, and spice. Rich, balanced, and endlessly long on the finish.

🍷 Cuvée Palatia (New Release)

The latest jewel in Argyros’ crown, Cuvée Palatia is a bold yet refined new interpretation of Assyrtiko. Crafted from a meticulous blend of grapes from seven different vineyard plots, each adding its own nuance, the wine is strikingly complex. Vibrant acidity, intense minerality, and layers of citrus, flint, and white flowers make this a truly distinctive, age-worthy wine that speaks of place, precision, and innovation.

Estate Argyros’ premium wines are more than just drinks—they are stories bottled in glass, capturing the essence of Santorini’s raw, ancient beauty and the passionate craftsmanship behind every vintage. A must for any serious wine lover.

Santorini Dry White Wine 2019

This was bangin! Lots of saltiness. And hints of honey. Not as crisp and lemony as most Assyrtiko wines. Lots more depth and intricacies. 80% Assyrtiko, 10% Aidani, and 10% Athiri — 4 years ago

Santorini Assyrtiko Blend 2017

Med lemon.
Clean youthful aromas with med intensity of lemon, honey, stone, jasmine.
Appealing dry palate, med+ bright acidity, high but well integrated alcohol, full body, pronounced intensity.
Long acid stone finish.
Very good wine, a blend loaded with the wonders of santorini: minerality and acidity. Mineral character, can drink now, suitable for further aging.

First time with this very rare variety. A lot of lemon and honey. Melons. Very different than Assyrtiko or Aidani. — 8 years ago

Vinsanto Santorini 4 Years Barrel Aged Assyrtiko 2008

Outstanding, this wine has so much more than simply being sweet. Piney and resinous, it fluctuates between flavors of sugar dusted dried apricots, candied lemons, marzipan, and honeycomb with pine sap, pollen, chaparral, white balsamic, mint and blanched herbs adding a more savory complexity. Unctuous and long. 80% Assyrtiko, 10% Aidani, 10% Athiri.

Blanc des Côteaux Cuvée Amphore White Blend

This was super complex. It grew on me as it breathed. 45% Assyrtiko, 35% Malagouzia, 15% Vidiano and 5% Aidani. Mangos. Hints of vanilla. Enjoyed at Koufadakis in Halkidiki. — 2 years ago

Aspa Volcanic Terroir Assyrtiko Blend 2018

Excellent blend. Meyer lemon custard. Light and clean. Super refreshing. Probably the best Assyrtiko blend I’ve tasted. Paired well with all the Greek spread at Andros in Chicago. — 4 years ago

Paros Dry Red mandilaria Mavro 2020

Blend of Mandilaria and Mavro Aidani
Intense fresh sour black cherries, pomegranate juice, a whiff of black pepper, allspice.
On the palate this is fresh, with vibrant acidity and nice, juicy acidity.
This is on the leaner, fresher side with sour cherries galore… worked v. nicely with some grilled pork chops.

Aidani 2016

Härlig aidani från Santorini. 100% ståltank men har till trots en grym textur och oljig munkänsla. Frukten är återhållsam utan att någonsin försvinna. Nätmelon, päron och lime. Grym mineralitet och lång fin syra. — 8 years ago

Aidani White Blend 2014

Зеленое яблоко, какие-то травяные нотки, сырость, кожурка груши. Вкус полный, взрывной, масляно, медово. Короткое послевкусие, мед, лимон. — 8 years ago

Nykteri Assyrtiko Athiri 2020

Vintage 2020 | Nykteri is the word for ‘staying up whole night’ in the local language. Santorini vintners harvest in the morning and press the grapes during night. Made of Assyrtiko, Athiri and Aidani grapes. Absolute very mineral. Very compelling wine that matured in barrels for three months. We drank it with shrimps dim sum and it made us happy. — 9 months ago

Light-red dessert wine having flavors on the chocolate side along with raisin and honey, finishing with a nutty flavor. I had it with Chicken Vindaloo but this would pair better with Lamb Vindaloo. Good for chocolate desserts. — 2 years ago
