Bright gold with fine bubbles; lovely, expressive nose has a fresh-pastry quality with white flowers and mineral; palate is both full and rich and fresh and airy with citron, white fruit and stony soil notes. At Puleju in Rome. — 3 months ago

Excellent wine. Balance of tannins and fruit; anthesis of cheap jammy California Cab. Great sub-$15 Wegmans find. — 7 years ago
Slightly less deep appearance, hints of garnet and a more terracotta rim . More advanced obviously with dried herbal hints , black tea , cedar , menthol, less fruits but some earthy dried cherry , cassis notes too. On the palate this shows more dried fruit character , dried cherry, dried herbs , black tea, cedar . Fresh acidity and fine tannins , saline and mineral on the palate . Good length and intensity, this is showing well at the moment . Will continue to give pleasure at this level over the next 5 -8 years — 14 days ago
I'm calling this! Best Franciacorta I've ever had. For once, smth elegant and complex. Refined bubbles, breast and savoury saline. Bloody thing totally changed my perception of Bellavista! — 8 months ago
Delicious, crisp fruit with a gerber baby food smell and vanilla pudding note, the best sparkling rose I’ve ever had — 4 years ago
Apricots on the nose and “Honey nut Cheerios”/toasted oats cereal on the mid/back palate, dry finish — 6 years ago
very beautiful Syrah! aromatic expression. fresh black fruits: ripe, blueberry, blackcurrant. a lot of freshness on the palate, soft and silky tannins, enhanced by notes a little more full of licorice, cocoa, black olive, all finesse. a very beautiful wine, very balanced, which is drunk alone. a real treat! — 7 years ago
This is very typical of a carménère but the flavour develops slowly in your mouth allowing you to taste the layers of flavour. For that alone I think this is a great wine at under £10. It has a light colour because it's a young wine but really surprises you with the flavour profile. The aroma sets you up for assuming the tannins will be light, with dark fruits but actually thw tannins is punchy. It has a bitter start, an almost smoky taste (because it's a reserva) with a dry finish and hint of fruit. — 7 years ago
Slightly less bright appearance , medium ruby core , wider ruby rim . Slightly more herbal in character , darker fruits perhaps . Cassis , dried herbs , grafite , cedar, seaside hints. Slightly more austere too . On the palate this has a little more dark fruit than expected , with darker cherry , cassis, dried herbs and a slight medicinal , black tea, anis tinge . Slightly more edgy , grippy tannins and good acidity, not perhaps as fresh as the 2021 . Pretty good depth and intensity too . Good mineral , grafite tinged finish . Slightly more advanced in comparison to the 2021 . This also needs time , quite austere in character with more grippy tannins . Will continue to improve over the 5 years and last well a further 10. — 14 days ago
A visit to Villa Las Tronas in Alghero for a glass and snacks they served with the pour.
Bellavista is a good memory as Sofia & I visited their property in Francorta in the fall of 2015.
This is bright and lemony with lime zest, grapefruit, just barely ripe pineapple flesh, touch of kiwi, some red apple & Bosc pear, nut w/ a little skin, cream, light fresh herb, dash of caramel, ginger skin, volcanic minerals, sea spray, a touch of yeast, yellow & white spring flowers, lively acidity with a well balanced, nicely polished finish that lasts just over a minute landing minerality. — 8 months ago
