Deep nose then very perfumed with sappy mid season cherries. Superbly mineral and elegant. Precise. Airy and my god this is mineral. Palate is elegant, taut and structured with lovely purity. Sour cherry and early season cherry dominate and it’s very tangy with lovely crunch. Nice inner mouth aromas and juiciness. Seems a bit closed on the backend where the tannins firm up and show intense stoney mineralIty. They are very fine tannins tho. Needs at least an hour of air or maybe more. This and the wine before have terrific structure. Long finish that has sweet fruit and tang. Fleshes out with air and the finish is even more expansive. 9.2 to 9.3. Engaging, full of energy and freshness. Terrific balance and mouthfeel. — 6 years ago
Wow! Drinking like a wine less than half it's age. Such a shame that this style of wine has one out of favour. The perfect off-dry wine. Sublime nose of almost buttery (though not in an oaky sense) unripe peaches, spring buds, and a hint honeysuckle. Cutting acidity and great length! — 9 years ago
Great RS vs acid balance. Tight lines with delicious floral and ripe citrus notes. Slurp! — 11 years ago

Orleans is a rare white wine grape variety grown in small proportions in Pfalz, Germany.
As a wine, Orleans has distinctive pineapple aromas and a slight spiciness. It shows excellent aging potential but, as it can be challenging in the vineyard, it is consequently quite unpopular with winemakers.

Made by Jan Wongse of Raumland and Felix Keller at Keller, from Theresa Breuer’s Roseneck vineyard (leased I believe). A unicorn. Marginally less extract than the Keller wines on the table I felt, but the complexity and precision was awe-worthy. A really filigreed rendition of Rheingau (perhaps atypical of this vineyard?). Lime, grapefruit, nectarines, mandarin, flowers, fresh herbs, and sea spray. Pure, fresh, and airy on the palate, yet still manages to bring about some beautiful silky textures. Laser acidity and an incredibly salty spine, along with some spices in the backend. Impressive really and if anything, shows that the future is in very good hands. — 4 years ago
Wow! Every time I have Riesling trocken I always wonder why I don’t drink more of it. Nose of peach and lime with wet gravel. Palate is more of the nose with a biting acidity of citrus. Beautiful flowers are mixed in with salty wet rocks! Finish lingers for a minute or more. Ideal with food but also a great aperitif. — 7 years ago
This was really good. Apricot, peach skin, sulfur, some spritz, off dry, candied fruit, fruitcake, bright acidity and citrus on the finish. Sulfur a bit prominent, but still great stuff. Went great with some Asian food. — 7 years ago
Riesling is under rated, this was bone dry acidic and declicious — 5 years ago

Fresh and lean ripper with clean fruit, intense smoky slate and unrelenting minerality. Very austere but also very appealing. — 8 years ago
