Funky, earthy, complexity, fresh. Bar Brutal in Barcelona. Gerardo — 7 years ago
Vivid moderately saturated ruby. Fresh scents of black cherry, strawberry, mocha and flowers. Then extremely clean and fresh on the palate, with a youthful, musclebound quality but also very precise concentrated red fruit and violet flavors. Finishes long with smooth tannins and outstanding balance. I can’t even begin to remember the last time I have had a Gutturnio so devoid of green streaks and so much fun to drink. Well done. A blend of 55% Barbera and 45% Croatina from vines planted in 1977; spends twelve months in large oak barrels and barriques. The label says 14% alcohol, but it tasted like it had fewer octanes than that to me. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, Jan 2018)

One of my favorite wines I tasted at the estate. Competes with Premier Cru Chablis in my eyes with super charged acid and texture. White flowers, Meyer lemon, bay leaf, and grapefruit pith with deep saline minerality and a long finish. Aged a year in neutral French oak on the lees. Pair with grilled octopus. — 12 days ago

Lemons, saline, yum! — 8 months ago
Mmmmm this is a porch pounder! Light lemon/lime with nice mineral and salt. I would call it “round” not crisp. Delish.

Fantastic single-vineyard albariño! Floral aromatics, clean yet weighty palate balanced perfectly with a saline backbone. Need to find more! — 7 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
A nice Albariño, grapes from the Contado do Tea subzone and the Salnes subzone, aged on lees for about 9 months, pale lemon with aromas of citrus and tropical fruits. On the palate pronounced flavors of melon and lemon with hints of toasty notes from lees aging. Long finish, vivid acidity, ending with fruit and smoky character. Will age well. — 2 days ago
