A gentle behemoth. Brooding blackberries, blueberries, gravel, black pepper with a savory finish. Well integrated tannins. Naturally, you'll want to give this some air. — 7 years ago

Who knows what you’re going to get with an old white of a mostly unknown blend, but this was delicious! Took on hints of caramel and honey. Had to get a second glass. — 8 years ago

Phenomenal wine for the price. Earthy at first then flowery. The perfect wine for a special occasion. 1989 — 8 years ago
This is quite a complex wine. Give it some time to breathe and it will reward you for that. Doesn't need any more time to age, if anything drink it soon. I didn't have another to compare it to, but it may be just past it's prime. Primary flavours: Tobacco, stewed plum, dried sour cherry. Secondaries: leather, smoke, white pepper, vanilla. Tertiaries: green capsicum, spearmint. Full body, long finish, very intense, very complex, many levels of expression.
The short answer - buy it and drink it — 9 years ago
In beautiful shape, better than I remember the last bottle being. Dried red and black fruits, dry dusty tannins, forest floor, dried porcini mushroom and old leather umami nodes, cedar, dried herbs. Did I mention it’s dry? But it’s a beautiful wine, the flavor profile exudes sun baked warmth but the alcohol clocks in at less than 12% so it doesn’t fatigue the palate — 3 years ago
Full bodied and lingering complexity. A great blend that comes from the Baga grape unique to the region of Bairrada. If this was from Châteauneuf-du-Pape expect to pay 3x more. — 7 years ago
I may have had this before. If not, it reminded me of another delicious sparkling rosé I’ve had from Portugal. — 8 years ago
Very unique wine. Similar characteristics to Nebbiolo. Beautiful color from the age reflecting a very earthy earthy full-bodied wine. The initial nose also has tar, wet soil and cassis. Needs half a day (at least) to open up. The flavor has cherry, raspberry, tobacco and beef-like flavor. Great smoky finish. Very different for me — 8 years ago

Mature and rather delicate with notes of prosciutto and iron. Probably better for a light charcuterie board then easy sipping in a Lisbon AirBnB. Old school Bairrada producer. — 4 months ago
