Amazing night with Louis Michel tasting his release of the 18 vintage — a year ago
Good Château Canon Croix Canon Saint Emilion 18 @8800, Pieroth, 251117 — a month ago
2011 vintage. Last of two, kept, bottles with two being gifted. Last tasted 7.21.25 (9.4) and 12.11.24 (9.4). PNP'd with very early Thanksgiving-styled fare. Great cork and fill and traces of sed. Tasted over the course of 1.5 hours. Still light-medium body. Very very nice but just missing that upper-level, loving touch exhibited in the last two bottles tasted in the last 11 months. If I came across another stash of this tho in the next decade, would likely pull the trigger. 11.6.25. — 2 months ago
Dark fruit for days but focused and weightless. Still a baby compared to the ‘18. The last glass 9 hours after opening was the best. — 8 months ago
Fabulous visit with Host Maxime Pindor at Michel / Frederic Magnien today! Large portfolio tasted through & enjoyed by all!
Cheers🇫🇷👍🏻👏🏻🍇🍷

This wine screams right bank Bordeaux supported by a blend of 55% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. A dark Ruby red in colour this has a lovely perfume with aromas of plum, cigar box, dried bracken and roses, tobacco and spice. Cinnamon and nutmeg from the oak. 70% of the French Oak barrels were new. Medium plus bodied. The tannins are there but lessening in impact. 14.5% ABV. This wine was #2 in the Wine Spectator’s Top 100 of 2013. A near neighbour of the aristocratic Chateau Ausone. — 2 days ago
