Viognier often lacks acidity and should therefore be drunk young, but this must be the tightest Condrieu I have ever tasted, with an energetic acidity keeping the exotic richness in check. Condrieu 2020 "Séries Limitées" Castel. Light golden colour. White peach, pineapple, nuts and flowers. Exotic fruit with the typical Viognier bitter structure. In my experience Viognier doesn't age very well ( Château Grillet being the exception), so I'd rather drink this now, while it's shining. Abv. 13,5%. — a month ago

Intense. Crushed red fruit and violets and yippee plums. I thought the intensity might tone down a bit, but even after a few hours open still is a bit daunting to drink. Not bad, but it’s definitely an experience. I had it with some basic rotisserie chicken and I’m thinking something with more fat would’ve been more appropriate for a wine like this.  — 6 months ago

Had the 2022 in February of 2026. I really enjoyed this one. Dry tannins, leather, raspberry and blackberry. Paired with a chicken chasseur and paired well. Sort of a baby Bordeaux, but I liked it’s light body and simplicity. I will buy this one again. — 5 days ago
