Antica Terra Collective Tasting. The other side of the coin, a fruity Syrah. Dark purple fruit, oaky, salty, briny aroma, “dirty martini.” The tag says Dundee Hills but the Syrah fruit is from Santa Barbara. — 2 years ago
2019 vintage. Another great value from this Listrac estate. Dark red. Black fruit, less oaky compared to the 2018. Good concentration, a more extracted style compared to fellow Cru Bourgeois Supérieur Lilian Ladouys 2019 (Saint-Estephe) tasted alongside, but excellent value at 11(!) euros. — 4 years ago
Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this wine offers everything you want from the Left Bank’s most structured appellation: blackcurrant, tobacco, cedar, and that telltale mineral edge.
But 2014 wasn’t an overly ripe year—which means finesse and freshness take the lead. The tannins are firm but refined, and there’s a cool graphite note that gives it a quietly serious core. Now, with almost a decade in bottle, it’s entering its sweet spot—open, expressive, but still with plenty of backbon — 2 days ago
4th of the K Laz tasting - this is the Lillian John blend - maybe it’s too young but find it very thin - apparently next door to Screaming Eagle but pretty sure this is a very pale imitation - nose is slightly off, good fruit but again on the sour side — a year ago
From magnum. A blend of the 2014 and 2015 vintages. Rich but balanced. Quite enjoyable. — 5 years ago

2022 vintage. The back label sends you to the website of Producta Vignobles, a huge coopérative négociant company, the owners seem to be Marie Guyonnaud et Cyril Frémy. 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc. Lead pencil and cassis. Medium-bodied, with a pronounced minerality, somewhat hiding the fruit. Good value Saint-Estèphe ( 13 euros in a supermarket ), if a little lean at this stage. Abv. 13,5%. Suffers from the comparison with the 2023 Lilian Ladouys tasted alongside. Better the next day. — 3 months ago

Lovely, no bricking on the edge so it’s not really showing age. Nose is a bit hot still but very fitting the 09’s. It’s secondary for sure on the palate with fruit not overpowering but balanced in with the leather and cedar. Very good for the price point, it is in a good place now. — 3 years ago

Drinking well right now, but with a lot of stuffing that will ease it into the future and very likely improve. Nose shows very intense cassis, a little mentholated. There’s also some of that classic Saint-Estephe cooling, wet-clay-infused earthy minerality. Intense and weighty, bit a little tightly-wound still in the mouth. Lots of tacky but soft tannin still embedded. Nice finish. Very nice value, as this property usually is. 9.1 for now but I think it will warrant a higher score in 5 years or so. — a day ago
