Balanced with front fruit and decent body. No overpowering aspects. — a month ago
Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.
Fruity nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry and fruit forward on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing blackberries, cooked cherries, raisins, cedar, dried fruits, vanilla, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices and light earth.
Long finish with soft tannins and cherries.
This 10 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is drinking beautifully now. Rich, elegant and fruit forward.
Drinking at its peak now. Nicely balanced and smooth, with a soft mouthfeel.
Delicious right out of the bottle, and even better after 30 minutes of airtime. I did not decant it, but let it open up in the bottle. Really enjoyed the nose after an hour of airtime.
Easy drinking, and good by itself as a sipping wine, or with a nice piece of steak.
A blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc.
14.7% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Surprising amount of energy and lift for a wine of this type, still full bodied but leans more towards a medium red than heavy. Very soft tannins, blackberry forward with some plum, blueberry, a bit of raspberry & floral notes and cedar — 18 days ago

Gold Cap (Bessards-Meal blend), purchased at Marche-aux-Vins in Ampuis in January, 2009, this shows lovely aromatics of iron, mineral, some floral as well, very tight, structured palate with mostly black fruit flavors, clean, balanced, very long finish, ideally needs more cellaring, but I think I only bought 1 so that’s not happening, great Syrah from Hermitage!! — 3 days ago
