2005 vintage. In a weird place. Opened two hours prior and not showing any acidity/tannins and only primary fruit (predominant dark plum flesh-not skin). Acidity/tannins started to circle back around 1.5 hours later after initially tasting. 50/50 a day two wine or a disappointment. Anyone’s guess at this point. 11.28.25. — 18 days ago

I haven’t drunk many ‘05 red burgs, but it’s amazing to me how many notes, for years, across a range of producers, have expressed disappointment or puzzlement about why ‘05 X or ‘05 Y is not quite firing on all cylinders.

I last tasted this vintage 10 years ago in May 2015. Trademark herbaceous notes. A tawny edge when swirled. The palate shows more richness than normal for Margaret River with cassis and blackberry. From the very good 2009 vintage for Margs and the dress circle Wilyabrup area. — 5 months ago
