Beautiful nose, slightly sweet, very good — 3 months ago
This is Anita Kuhnel’s “Trés Vieille Vigne” from Les Caves in Moulin à Vent.
Popped and poured, enjoyed over the course of dinner. The 2022 “Les Caves - Trés Vieille Vigne” pours a deep purple color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart and ripe black fruit: blackberries, violets, licorice, minerals and dry rocky earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and mineral laden. A powerful wine showing the structure of Moulin à Vent. I would describe this as leaning towards the Burgundian side of the Beaujolais spectrum and it’s a wonderful example; totally true to its place. Drinking well now and should gain complexity and drink well through 2037. — a year ago

Waxed leather, dusty brick, slow cooked meat, wood smoke. Never had a wine from this area before and thoroughly enjoyed it, very earthy very visceral wine. Could if he’s a little more structured, but all things considered I’m not enough in an expert to say this that or whatever. Really delicious and went very well with giant pasta shells, high fat butter, and venison meatballs. No complaints. — 2 months ago
