Quite nice. Served a bit cooler than I like. Nice mid red restrained fruits, grand florals violets, wood shavings, amazing, gentle caramel, elegant with great balance & well toned length. — 4 months ago
The 2nd of 4 Grand Crus from Morey Saint Denis. Colour of deep Ruby - darker than the Lambrays. Quite a rich palate of M+ intensity. Great mouthfeel. At this point I wrote in my notes “ getting to the point of sensory overload. Let me tell you that 2016 is a great vintage for Red Burgundy “. A wonderful Clos de la Roche”. Worth purchasing as it is always better value than the Ponsot Clos de la Roche. — 6 years ago

Remarkably intense flowery strawberry nose with little reflection of its age. Rich infused sweet tea flavors and gorgeous fruit that remains strong through the finish. — 9 years ago
Magnum 1998 Cheval Blanc. Third red for dinner at the house w B&K K, J&L B, and M&R H and BP. Awesome! So much fun to try this Bordeaux after the 2002 Domaine des Lambrays burgundy. This wine felt young, even though older than the Lambrays. A bit tight at first, despite decanting a few hours. Fun contrast of round vegetal and green noted, stronger tannins. Such a treat. Probably the fave of the night. — 10 years ago

Oh is this delicious. So fresh and hard not to drink right away. Light on its feet, beautiful red fruits-cherries, strawberries, raspberries. Floral violets, perfect acidity, elegant finish. — 4 months ago

These Cameron clos electrique rouge just keep getting better. This is better than the 15 or 12 at a similar stage imo. An absolutely pitch perfect btl of young PN. On the nose, soft funky reduction that disappears with air, pure wild strawberry, perfume, earthy spice. On the palate, amazing acidity, wild strawberry, spice, earth. But this is so enveloping, the extract is off the charts, but only 12.4% abv, it can't be! Soft, finely grained tannin on the finish. This is one of the best wines I have had this year, on par with and perhaps better than the 11 Lambrays from January. — 6 years ago

First sentence is a tester. Now the full note. We don’t often have Grand Cru Burgundy but we had roast duck legs on Mother’s Day. An intensity to the nose - Sous Bois/Compost heap with savoury red fruits - smoky with a hint of pepper. Many of the experts are saying a high influence of stems in the ferment is apparent and I totally agree. Interestingly Richard Hemming MW gave the wine 19.5/20 and said “This is what all the Burgundy fuss is all about.” Continuing to evaluate - this wine has a beautiful nose (very Morey one taster said). In summary a magnificent wine with great persistence. One of the 1001 Wines. Clos des Lambrays can trace its history back to the 14th century. — a month ago
This has a bit more teeth. Darker, bolder red berries, light caramel, butterscotch notes, tree sap, twig, florals for days, what balance, length and elegant finish. Definitely my wheelhouse. Red burgundy candy in a good way. Great now but meant for the cellar. 8-10 yrs. — 4 months ago
Lean, but beautiful softness, freshness, red roses, incredible balance. For the lighter red burgundy lover. — 4 months ago
Pop and pour. Wow. On the nose: a touch of struck match, dense lemon, lemon oil, wet stone, filigreed fruit on minerality. So delicate, but simulateously powerful. Lovely density, crushed rock, lemon oil, fantastic acidity and a long finish. Fantastic, but so young. Sad this is no longer a monopole...doubt I will ever be able to afford the Lambrays version. — 4 years ago
Big, impressive, seems a little simple next to the Clos des Lambrays but damn good — 11 years ago

Really very lovely. Not quite at the level of some of the for example older Ponsots that we have had, but still obviously excellent. Opened a couple hours in advance, better as the night wore on so probably could have used a decant. Paired with a very simple butter basted filet and some mushrooms. Great depth, balanced fruit and real earth. Quite a bit of power. — a month ago
