2010 vintage. Technically a Barsac, but sold as Sauternes ( Barsac being the only Sauternes commune allowed to do so). Much deeper, more evolved colour compared to the 2010 Guiraud (in half bottle!) tasted alongside. Intense perfume with wild apricot, roasted pineapple, and caramelised nuts. Richer than the Guiraud, this is a very impressive effort that is definitely of Cru Classé quality. Superb value too. — 2 years ago

Slightly deeper colour, with light lemon yellow core . Fine persistent perlage . Slightly more closed on the nose , with lemon oil , toasty roasted nuts , chalky hints. On the palate this is denser and more creamy , more toasty , with lemon hints and a chalky , limestone hint . Touch of bitterness with some saline hints . Good length . Nice now but will improve over the next few years , and last well a further 5 years or so . — 9 months ago
Dec 11, 2021 Saturday dinner w/ Jack D celebrating J2’s good news. This champagne was such a lovely surprise. Bright, crisp, citrus. Lots of complexity, and lots of fine bubbles. Good with food or alone. Wish I had more. First bottle purchase. — 5 years ago

Light for cab but really good — 11 years ago
1975. Easily wotn. Almond, shredded coconut, hints of stone fruit. Barsac's lower sweetness suits me very well. Only complain a bit short. Buy. — 12 years ago

This left bank BDX is wonderful. Very grippy tannins, leathery and earthy but with some air giving away to layered red and dark fruit. Beautiful Cassis notes. Nice minerals. At $30, a really nice value. — 19 days ago
