Domaine No Control

Louis M. Martini

Lot No. 1 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

As a nod to Karen (who some will remembered worked at Louis M. Martini decades ago—and is the nicest and best person to ever work in the wine industry) we opened this for my birthday. Paired it with a Tri Tip. It was a nice pairing. Good cab. It was better a couple years ago but still nice to drink for a special occasion. — 2 days ago

Château Margaux

Premier Grand Cru Classé Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

1.5 hour decant(decent chunky/fine sediment). A remarkable purplish magenta color. On the nose: very aeromatic notes of black & red berries, truffles, loamy soil, worn leather, tobacco leaf, floral, herbaceous. Taste: soft, elegant, balanced, layered mouthfeel wine with blackberry, dark plum, leather, crushed granite, dried herbs, and a spiced cedar long finish with some dusty tannins. YUM! At the start of its drinking window with 20-30 years to go, so no rush. — 2 months ago

Nice!!!

Château Cos d'Estournel

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2018

You have to let it breathe because it starts off too jammy. Give it some air for a more dynamic taste. Fruit forward, warm blanket. No outstanding flavor notes like pepper — 3 months ago

André Clouet

Rosé No.3 Brut Champagne Blend

Somm David T
9.1

The only Champagne in their flight. First time having this producer.

It has gentle, micro bubbles. Soft mousse. Again, a touch sweet. At least for me. Seems more than 9g. It is interesting to me that with all of France’s rather strict wines laws, I have seen extra brut over 6g & brut over 9g.

Full cherries to kirsch quality, strawberries, pomegranate and raspberries. Gentle dry herbal notes, moist, crumbled chalk & limestone, yeast notes, some white spice, sea fossil/spray, crumbled grey volcanics, pink & red roses, pleasant round acidity, nicely polished finish that is more fruit than earth as it sets and lasts 45 seconds to a minute.

Lovely! Their V6 Experience is outstanding as well and offers one of the best QPR for a NV Champagne IMO. Cheers @Somm David T !

Château d'Yquem

Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 1986

9.2

Age is just a number. Still has strong, heady aromas and flavors of apricots, stone fruits though no more tropical notes.after some time, aromas of creme caramel. Powerful backbone of acidity, tempered by flavors of herbs and bitters. Beautiful but with some complexity that comes with maturity. Paired with a slice of basque cheesecake. — a month ago

L'Ecole No. 41

Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.

Fruity nose and full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

Showing black fruits, cedar, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco, espresso, chocolates, earth, light vegetables, herbs and peppercorn.

This 8-year-old Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon is drinking very nicely right out of the bottle, and even better after 90 minutes of airtime.

Rich and fruit forward. Elegant and complex. Spicy and entertaining.

Peaking now and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.

Wine Spectator 90 points. Wine Enthusiasts 92 points.

Easy drinking and good by itself as a sipping wine. Will also pair nicely with barbecue meats.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$45 (current vintage).
