Dirler-Cadé

Saering Alsace Grand Cru AOC Riesling 2015

Vintage 2015 | My good winefriend @BerryMarinussen makes a plea for Riesling with beef. Searing is my favorite GC from Dirler Cadé. And this 2015 has a nice modest sweet in taste. Goes excellent with Cantonese beef and mango. Total happiness. — 3 years ago

Maison Harbour

Corton GC Rouge

Should be too early. It’s not. This wine is insane right now, ridiculously well balanced; it will probably get better but I doubt it’s a 30 year wine. — 5 years ago

Convivial Gamay & Pinot Noir 2023

Pale ruby in the color; cherries, raspberries, and strawberries on the nose; high acidity; medium minus tannins; tastes like pomegranates, hibiscus, red currants, and crushed gravel with a long finish. Nellie and I love it! Pairs well with food, and it's great on its own. Easy to drink with good structure. — 9 months ago

Trout Gulch Vineyard Chardonnay 2017

The most natural American oyster wine ever. Focussed minerality of a GC Chablis, essence of salt brine, laser intensity and tension. Blown away. Can easily spend 5+ years in the cellar and get even more interesting. — 4 years ago

Domaine Jean-Michel Gaunoux

Corton-Renardes Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1995

Compared to my prior 2008 bottle tasting note - holding up beautifully for this 1995 GC burg. sour and stewed sour cherry and subtle raspberry. Stem notes and singed bramble in background. Effortless to drink. — 2 months ago

Ceritas

Trout Gulch Vineyard Chardonnay 2016

I keep opening these too young. This has to be my favorite ceritas chard bottling. All the GC Chablis comparisons are spot on. Nose has candied lemon and tangerine, seashell, flint, and a kind of musty maritime quality. Bracingly acidic and saline. Begs for raw bar. Should continue to deepen with time. I think I have one more and will try not to touch for another 3-5 years — 3 years ago

For me this is a astonishing wine, this is pure elegance and quality! The winemaker has done a awesome job, this is burgundy style Chardonnay from the highest level! A Lafon nose and great balanced wine! Love it! — 5 years ago
