Dry, tannic and acidic. A very good wine with notes of leather, ref fruit, and mushroom. — 9 months ago
Hi everyone! This is lovely (rare descriptor for me). Medium red brick color, medium plus body, medium plus alcohol but subtle. Nice acidity, and tannins make this absolutely drinkable right now-- 8/26/25 my 58th birthday, forgot to give everyone my new Miami address for bottled gifts 😜 . Certainly floral notes on both the nose and palate, but not rose, some cedar overtones, with an enjoyable minerality. It's lovely because it all comes together like a beautiful gift basket (pun not intended) that would impress a royal lady, but stand up proud for a gentleman. It will improve, but you don't have to let it!

Dark ruby/purple color. Aromas of jammy black fruit, wild herbs and sweet spices. Flavors of cooked blackberries and black cherries, black licorice, raisins and baking spices. Medium-plus plush finish and body with good length. Medium tannins and acidity. Highly concentrated, ripe and rich. Thanks to Jennifer and Paul for sending a glass of their wedding wine over to me during dinner. Congratulations Guys! — 25 days ago
Solid Sangiovese in a very strong price point. I have bought these wines from Sassetti for decades. — 5 months ago
around a $40 price point i think, bright, nice bubbles- would have preferred a little more breadiness (at this price point) — 10 months ago
Lovely light ruby red with aromas of juicy ripe red plums, Ranier Cherries and rhubarb. Taste of red raspberries and strawberry. An enjoyable blend of acidity and tannins. This dry, medium bodied wine is an excellent addition to any collection. — a year ago

Delicious, garnet color, good age — 2 years ago
Crisp, very peachy, a little floral . Maybe white peach or mimosa? Nice acid but balanced. — 3 months ago
Ettore Germano's Alta Langa Extra Brut 2020 is revelatory, the sparkling wines from this Barolo producer are some of the best I have had outside champagne. His Barolos are knockouts too! Sergio, the winemaker and current family head of the winery, is a passionate
sparkling wine lover and it comes through in his sparkling wines.
Starbright-straw color, a nicely thick and frothy mousse of tiny bubbles. The nose is linear, with Meyer lemon, pear, chalk, white flowers, with a touch of reduction initially that blows off. Open this about an hour before you start to pour it out. The fruit really pushes through later with air and adds some stone fruit notes as it warms up and opens. Medium bodied, med+ acidity, med+ young, complex, and tightly layered flavors sail into a fresh and very confident and complete long finish.
Made up of Pinot Noir & Chardonnay, 80/20, the Chardonnay is fermented in 500L foudre and Pinot Noir in steel, 30 months en tirage, dosage not labeled but tastes like 2 g/L or so. 93 points Kerin O'Keefe, I agree with that score. — 6 months ago

Ettore Germano only bottles Lazzarito as a Riserva, which is the estate’s flagship bottling.
It’s not quite ready yet after a decade. The initial nose is dominated by iron, leather, and earthy mineral tones. After about 2 hours in the decanter, layers of red cherry, rosehip, and dried orange peel gradually emerge. The palate is powerful and tightly wound, framed by vibrant acidity and firm tannins that have yet to fully knit into the fruit. This is a serious Barolo whose best years still appear to lie well ahead. — a month ago
