This was served to me single-blind, after the 2016 Cascina Fontana Barolo del Comune di Castiglione Falletto. I knew it was Barolo, but from where? It seemed like a broader shouldered wine that I might associate from the Comune di Barolo, but I wasn’t certain. The wine pours a deep, garnet color with a near opaque core. Medium viscosity, with no staining of the tears. On the nose, developing and much darker fruited than the Cascina Fontana with notes of dark cherry and some blackberry notes too. There was some tobacco, tar, red roses, minerals and spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and delicious. Again, there is real quality here and a very lovely texture. And there it is: Borgogno’s Riserva Cannubi, 2011! I am not surprised this is Cannubi, with there being no shortage of quality fruit and all. This was really fun to enjoy. Drink now with some patience or through 2041. — 2 years ago

Bright Ruby color with aromas of red berry fruits, spice and floral notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and strawberry with spice, licorice and floral notes. Fine chewy tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, floral spice and slight earthy character. — 5 months ago
Ароматное, на вкус не очень сложное, но Сереже понравилось. Пардон, питкое. — 7 months ago
Soft brown in color. Toasted notes with dried fruit, soft plum, tar and some high toned acidity. A slightly austere palate but a haunting fragrant quality. Very pretty. You need to lean in a bit to see the beauty — 2 years ago
Light, fruit foward, nice acid with very light tanin finish. — 4 years ago
Old Nebbiolo nose with sour cherry on palate for first two hours, then rose and red fruit for next hour, then as it was just hitting its stride it was gone - we finished it. Next time need to be more patient, if I’m lucky enough for a next time. Purchased from Walker Wines who has great old Nebbiolo offerings. — 6 years ago
2020 vintage. Apparently, Brezza Giacomo e Figli is a certified organic producer in Barolo, known for crafting high-quality Barbera d'Alba Superiore. This was a well-structured Barbera I found best decanted for 30 minutes. Black fruit, herbs and white pepper on the nose. Medium body with notes of blackberry, tart cherry. and dried herbs and a play between moderate acidity and tannin with a exceptional medium length finish. This was perfect with pasta puttanesca and tuna and white bean salad. — 5 months ago
Lovely wine paired with rigatoni alla vodka and stuffed artichokes. Cherries and plum and not overly dry. Look forward to drinking this again. — 6 years ago

vintage 2016 | beautiful develop bouquet, rich, vanilla, mango, hay. The taste seems a clap in the face, strict acidity, reminds of a chardonnay from Jura. — a month ago
